from the previews it looks like he plays a perfect joker. I didnt even know it was him at first. Like compare the Knights Tale heath to Batman heath. HUGE difference

Saw it tonight...didn't have high expectations since I'm not much of a fan of superhero movies.

I was pleasantly surprised and found myself enjoying it quite a bit.

The movie was good. There were a few things about it that I wasn't a huge fan of... It had a bit more of the fanciful unrealistic stuff of the older movies, as opposed to Batman Begins, which was about as realistic as Batman could get. Still, I guess it had to progress, or we'd be watching Batman Begins again!

Heath Ledger was awesome. On par with, if not better than, Nicholson. Such a shame he's not with us anymore. I heard that Johnny Depp is going to be the one to take his place. I imagine he'll be fantastic, but it won't be the same.


There were a few things I didn't like. The unrealistic comic-booky stuff, though fitting of the genre and character, was a bit of a put-off after seeing Batman Begins. The fact that Batman growls ALL the time... I understand why he'd do it when talking to cops and stuff, but there are times where he could use his normal voice. Truthfully, I think it sounds silly most of the time. Plus, with all those toys he has, couldn't he get some kind of voice modulator, rather than snarling at everyone like Chris Barnes? (search it, kids...)
Also, the reappearance of the Scarecrow in the beginning, reduced to such a silly and pathetic character, was just idiotic... why even bother? (I didn't ruin anything for anyone... it's in the first 3 minutes of the movie, and TOTALLY unimportant)

c'mon guys of course its gonna be more unrealistic and more fantasy filled i know that the comic and show wasnt like that..it was more of a cartoon/comic for older teens to adults...spiderman was always more of a kiddy themed cartoon and xmen always attracted both..i havent seen the movie yet but i have an idea that it might not be better then batman begins..
but any batman with the JOKER in it is gonna kick some serious ass..so..i really cant imagine heath being a joker..he's more of a pretty boy isnt he??

but i see the deeve talking about depp playing joker?? SERIOUS? have u seen how well he plays clever bad guys? or even playing a dark role..like that sweeney todd movie he had??im telling u now THAT sounds like a joker to me...but im really waiting for the spider-man that brings CARNAGE into the mix he was always my favorite villain..
