Best Way To Store A Car

i really dont know a better place for this. feel free to move it if you must.

so, my question is, what is your guyses opinion on the best way to store a car outside for the winter? ive never stored a car before and i dont even know where to start. should i throw some fuel stabilizer in it? im going to get a car cover. anything else im missing? insight would be great!

I would get a onboard battery maintainer, put it on a standard wall timer set to run a few hours a day. I would also raise the car off the ground to unload the suspension to prevent flat spots from happening. Give it a good cleaning inside and out, apply a good carnauba wax, stick an air freshener in the interior, throw the cover on, and wait for spring.

I keep my cb7 garage parked, on a battery maintainer like mentioned, no cover, and I start it up every month or so, drive around a bit (to rotate the tires), and then park it again. I end up washing and waxing the car at a minimum twice a year due to dust buildup.

Wristpin knock sucks, been doing this ritual for almost 4 years now.

EDIT: The absolute best way to store a car is in a clean room environment (particle filtration system) with a constant temperature, no light, no humidity, etc; but unfortunately I don't think anyone here has actually done that other than TypeG.

Honestly i would park it and not think twice. People let these cars sit for well over a year and they start up without issues.

If your concerned about your coilovers siezing, then spray a water/moisture repellant like WD40, or a rust repellant/penetrating lubricant on the parts of concern.

heck, i would recommend coating just about everything in a layer of WD40.

Make sure the car has anti freeze in the cooling system and not straight water....I learned that the hard way.

Screw the car cover instead just seal everything with PlastiDip, and just peel it off when the spring comes.

                    Fluid Film FTW!

Be sure to wipe your down your interior with lysol disinfectant spray or any bacteria killing spray. My buddy stored a Del-Sol for a couple of months(Indoors), and in that little time mold grew everywhere we touched. Mostly on the shifter and steering wheel, but it was on door panels, seats and seat belts as well.

I've had my CB7 parked for many years... didn't do anything to it. All I had to do was replace the dead battery (yes, let it sit dead long enough, and an Optima Red Top can't be brought back to life!)
