If someone sends me a dollar, they get contributing member status. That doesn't make them better than anyone else. They aren't buying stock in the board. They don't have partial ownership in the board. They're helping out. That title lets them be recognized for it. I would like to think that someone who cares about this site enough to part with some cash would WANT to retain a respectful atmosphere.

If I started showing favoritism to anyone who has donated money to this site, it would be rather unfair, don't you think? It turns a donation into bribery. I appreciate donations, but they are just that: donations. That title doesn't come with any special privelages or considerations.

Yeah, for 3 days. I got a little too harsh in the Beginner Forums. Phatty called me on it, and I had to abide by my own rules. I'm not above the rules... they applied to me before I became a mod, before I became admin, and they still apply now
