Open his hood while he's not looking and unplug the injectors.
My friend's 1st-gen GSX throws you in your seat, and it's pretty much stock. The AWD is nuts off the line. Maybe my combination of being automatic and the fact that all the power has to wait for VTEC just felt slow, but I seriously doubt my stock H-swap would have stood a chance. With the torque of the turbo, you'd probably have to be at about 210bhp to keep up.Last edited by CyborgGT; 04-13-2013, 03:28 AM.

well the reason i ask is a buddy wont's to go to the track with me and race me . first with his beat up eclipse i mean beat up . ( had it since high school ) I've driven it before but that was along time ago and he is always beating on it . also dose not keep it tuned up. his other weapon of choice is a power stroke 7 liter with programer and up graded turbo housing .( both will be at the track ) i know my accord will run at 2 day's at 65 mph for a pass or so i read lol. all in all we are just out having fun .this was put together by evil_demon_01 . No offense to cb guys, but the two wont even compare. If his dsm is awd, it's going to pwn your cb. His power stroke, is probably faster than his dsm.
Thing with a dsm, for next to nothing in cost you can go quite a bit faster than stock, which is already quite a bit faster than a stock cb.
H22 swapped cb's with no other mods are making 160-170whp, which is already less than stock dsm land. A $10 boost controller and the dsm can make 220-230whp w/out much else needed.
I've been a dsm guy for a decade. No doubt about it, the dsm will pwn you if the cars are in similar condition.Originally posted by wed3kim a douchebag to people and i don't even own a lambo. whats your point? we, douchbags, come in all sorts of shapes and colours.

@ toycar
- True that they're on 2 different planets, a FWD 2.2l sedan (eco/granny car) vs an AWD 2.0L DOHC turbo (basically a street legal race car.)
but the boost controller would also require a tune using DSM link or a similar tuning system, and im not sure, but, those numbers seem a bit far off for the drivetrain loss.
My brothers 1G stock auto GSX made 145whp on the dyno, rated at 170bhp from the factory...not to mention DSM's weigh a SHAT LOAD! i think its like 3400lbs with him in it lol..
my CB sedan said 2850lbs with me in it on the scale and im fat as hell lol.

Ok i see nothing about a 4g63 gsx so i don't know why people jumped to that conclusion as even a auto gsx would murk said accord with ease.
Two N/A option's in 90-94 eclipse ranging from 90hp to 135hp.
95-99 had two N/A options aswell the 420A and 4g64 like a 140hp so you might have a chance with the N/A eclipse's. But unless it's one tired 4g63 running on 3cylinder's you aint beating a healthy 4g63.

The OP crossed two different generations of DSM cars, was not specific as to the type of Eclipse it was and there's no such thing as a 7.0L Power Stroke.
This all before we've concluded that conversations like these are pointless. If you're truly racing your friend on a local track simply for the sake of having fun just go out there and run him and see who wins and by how bad. Who cares what internet people say?My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

i suppose it being a gsx or gst was an assumption, due to that the NA versions of the car, in my eyes, arent worth owning.. and thats an opinion, not to be confused for a fact for anyone reading this.
and i used my brothers 1g auto gsx as a reference point the the dramatic drivetrain loss in such a vehicle to level out the reality of what toy car stated, and i quote;
"A $10 boost controller and the dsm can make 220-230whp w/out much else needed. "
which is wrong, because the car will require substantial tuning to adjust the fuel and timing for more boost, and that is most often done with DSMlink and can cost upwards of $400 without a tuner to do it, so that means you rely on yourself as a tuner or have to shell out more money. On top of that to see those numbers you can count on a nice FMIC being in the budget as well as a nice exhaust, so theres another $7-800.
no questions asked that a gst or gsx will beat a CB7, that wasnt my point.
