ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

That's the exact reason i'm not looking into the G22 anymore because I need an easier one for my first swap. I just think I would screw something up and that if I did the H swap I would come out happier.

Yea bro, while the G22 sounds cool, and gets points for originality its not that cost effective, and sounds a little bit more complicated.

I am about 10 minutes or so north of Pensacola. You might as well say I live in Pensacola.

Yeah, in 2004... When I got my 86 Accord. Boynton Beach, actually, but more people know Palm Beach, so I say that. Close enough. Still 18 hours away from me!

IF you have to ask, you're not equipped with the knowledge to build a frank and have it be reliable.

If you found a Type S for 2100 with tranny... it's probably a fake. Or it's beat. Or it's stolen. They do NOT go for that little if they're legit.

If you want to beat the neon (if that's what you're saying, because you type like a 4 year old...) you need to learn. There are no easy ways to make power. You have to know what you're doing, and then do it right. If you halfass things, you'll have an unreliable, slow car...

yeah i got the idea that you have to know what you're doing in about every frankenstein post out there that's why i was wondering if it would be better to swap the h22 or build a frank cause i know a lot of mechanics that could definitely help me

As I said... if you have to ask what would be better, you don't know enough. If you have the necessary knowledge to do it right, you'd know if it was right for you or not.

Just get an H22. Get a regular H22 from a REPUTABLE importer, such as www.hmotorsonline.com. Add a good header, such as one from Bisimoto, and a good set of camshafts (Bisimoto also has good choices there). Get a P28 ECU, modify it, and have it properly tuned on a dyno. You'll be very satisfied with the results.

                          Dick? No. Naive, yes.

You want a fast, reliable car... and you're already looking to cut corners, and halfass things.

If you want it to be fast and reliable, pay what it takes, choose your parts carefully, and don't cheap out. It might take a while. It might not be extremely cheap... but you're never going to buy cheap crap and get the result you want. Trust me. I've been in your position. I've wasted thousands of dollars on "the cheap route". I've been running this forum for years, watching kids like you come and go. Ignoring this same advice (from me, or other older, experienced tuners)... and either learning the hard way, or giving up saying "this car sucks".

Your car has a ton of potential... but you have to do it right. Otherwise, you're just going to be another ricer kid crying next to his smoking car on the side of the highway, as some douche in a V6 mustang pulls away with a win.

i get excited every time i see a g22 thread and deev is the last poster

bisimoto doenst make headers for h22 (he will)

                            to the OP,

there's not a lot of people that like hybrid motors, save yourself some trouble, and just search

in real life you're adding vtec to your single cam, so what if you can make 20hp more by doing it, you'll get flamed for it

so, really unless you can get the whole thing done for less than $500 dont do it

There is already a "G" series motor that Honda produced (g25) and came with in the Honda Vigor (or acura).

Buidling a frank motor is very risky, the f22a heads flow really well for a stock head (it could even outflow an h22a with good head porting), now if you want power, I suggest you go with proper head work, and I/H/E, and good po and good tuning on a p06.

Building a "G22" will cost you as much as just swapping an h22 in your CB.
You can build your f22ax and make as fast as an h22a, but if you know what you're doing and how much you invest.

If you're gonna do the frank motor, you need to block some oil passages and some other mods. It ain't easy, and if you want it for N/A it sucks to, unless you boost it. Remember that the f22ax blocks are low compression and are not made for high reving.

And to sg4life92, if your on a budget and have a part time job, you're not gonna build a car that is "fast" and "reliable" with cheap parts or going on a low budget, you have spend good money, and know how to invest it.
Unless you just want the sound of vtec on you car and want the pretty valve cover, which to me is pointless unless you boost that frank motor or if you just swap in an H22a. Please note that when building these type of motors, they are not safe at all, nor reliable. You can beat a "neon" with your f22a, just know what your doing and invest money on it. I've got an f22a1 on my CB, I've beating b16's and even an h22a accord (my friends cb). You just got to know what you want and how you want it and how fast you wanna go.

                                You gotta pay to play.
