ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Building a "G22" will cost you as much as just swapping an h22 in your CB.
You can build your f22ax and make as fast as an h22a, but if you know what you're doing and how much you invest.

If you're gonna do the frank motor, you need to block some oil passages and some other mods. It ain't easy, and if you want it for N/A it sucks to, unless you boost it. Remember that the f22ax blocks are low compression and are not made for high reving.

And to sg4life92, if your on a budget and have a part time job, you're not gonna build a car that is "fast" and "reliable" with cheap parts or going on a low budget, you have spend good money, and know how to invest it.
Unless you just want the sound of vtec on you car and want the pretty valve cover, which to me is pointless unless you boost that frank motor or if you just swap in an H22a. Please note that when building these type of motors, they are not safe at all, nor reliable. You can beat a "neon" with your f22a, just know what your doing and invest money on it. I've got an f22a1 on my CB, I've beating b16's and even an h22a accord (my friends cb). You just got to know what you want and how you want it and how fast you wanna go.

    You gotta pay to play.
and how is this g25 motor?is it worth putting in a cb?
Team Accord #17 F & H series or no series....Rota Slips are the new steelies -_-

The g25 is a single cam, 5 cylinder engine, it is mounted like a RWD motor but its FWD. It has a different type of tranny, though.

It would be nice if you can do this on the CB and no it ain't easy at all!

aint this a quote deev? yes we all here know, that the f22 head flows better, that ESP makes good products for our cars, that the bisimoto header will gain 27whp not 28 on a stock motor, and that deev hates g series, with all those mods, you mentioned pedro, you wont see over 145whp, not with an oem cam

have you ever built a motor to even be talking about this?, there is no way in hell you'll spend even $800 on this motor

the block is not low compression, the pistons are, dome an dish + stroke is what makes difference in compression not the actual block, if the "g22" is so bad for N/A why the F&^%$, are you going to bother putting an I/H/E on an 8.8 compression motor, the f22, swapping heads just drops you down .4 of compression so why should this be any worse that revving an f22? like i said on other posts, is just a lesser flowing head, vtec and .4 less compression

And to sg4life92, if your on a budget and have a part time job, you're not gonna build a car that is "fast" and "reliable" with cheap parts or going on a low budget, you have spend good money, and know how to invest it.

this actual paragraph made sense, to the OP stay away from the frank, you definitely have more important things to take care of with a part time job other than building a motor
and to pedro you havent been beating anything at all,
do b16's even exist nowadays? some b series guys already know that preludes and accords could have an H under that hood
come on now you can beat a b16 with your f22

Are you serious? Not trying to be a dick or anything, but obviously you are not committed enough to your car to even bother to start modifying it. I too am a senior in High School, I make minimum wage, but I also work 40+ hours a week, as well as go to school. I don't have to work this much, but I beg for all the extra hours. I beg for the hours so I can modify my car. Sure, I'm on a budget too, I have bills to pay, and I don't come from anything close to a wealthy family, but I work hard and manage my money well in order to modify my car. My car is one of my highest priorities, because I absolutely love it, and I am serious about repping the CB7. I am a real CB7 enthusiast, not just a kid who found a cheap car on craigslist and discovered I could modify it. I went from an H22A swapped CB7 coupe, to an SR20DET swapped Infiniti G20, to my current sedan that I am in the process of swapping an F20A DOHC into as well as build it for nitrous. Being in high school does not limit you at all if you are willing to work. Especially if you are making as much as 9 dollars an hour.

You don't just have to pay to play, you have to make a commitment and work hard as well.

Being in high school means you have less financial responsibility.

Do you know what I had when I started getting into my car at age 23? A mortgage. I was also in school... Rutgers... and paying my own way.

I've made many stupid mistakes. Wasted a lot of money. Took me a while before I realized that saving and doing it right the first time is a hell of a lot better than cheaping out for "good enough" now.

Exactly what I'm saying, and making 9 dollars an hour is quite the privilege for a teenager. It isn't easy to get that much money being young and inexperienced.

Chances are, this kid is living at home with his parents, and the extent of his "bills" are a cell phone, car insurance, and gas. This is assuming he has any responsibility at all at home, and his parents are handing everything to him. These are very minor expenses, and are not much for financial responsibility at all.

Now, after those expenses, there should be a generous amount of money left over depending on how many hours you are putting in at work. The question we all need to be asking ourselves, is what are we blowing this money on? Does it have any importance at all?

If it doesn't, and your mindlessly wasting your money on things you don't need, then why not consider putting it into the car? By consider I mean, decide whether or not you really like the car, how long you think you'll have it, what your potential gain will be by investing in this car, and decide whether or not you are going to be serious when investing. By serious I mean, are you going to research different modifications before purchasing so that you aren't just grabbing whatever you can even though is has no promise of a potential performance gain, do you want to swap and which engine do you want, etc. It's all about commitment and sticking to the project.

Have a game plan! It will save you a lot of money in the end. Know what you are going to do and how you will go about doing it before making ANY purchases.

Yes, cars are a terrible investment, but they can also be a great one for somebody that just needs something constructive to do in their life, like me. I know that I'll never get what I put into this car out of it, but I love improving upon it, and it has helped me cope with many past emotional issues I've had to deal with.

So think long and hard about what you want to do before you start making useless purchases and wasting money. Do your research, learn, learn, learn, and learn a little more, then make yourself a project plan based on your budget, then ATTACK! Follow through with your plan no matter what it takes. Make an effort, and there will be a very pleasing reward at the end of the road.

come on now you can beat a b16 with your f22
If I had a damm digi cam or somthing I would so record a video of it!
I put this on my life that I beat b16a civic hatch, I saw the guys motor and said "B16a" I even meet the guy and we talked, his name is Patrick...

I will make a video somehow and I will upload so you can see it

And yes I know it ain't the block that has low compression, its the pistons (I mean it was 2:20am, I was tired as hell to give all the info LOL)

I also was planning the the "g22 build" back long ago and it seemed to cost as much as a full swap and was worthless (to me) to do the whole swap and crap.

And yes, with stock cam you can't go more than 150whp (for the most) with stock cam.
That is why I don't have a stock cam.

B16s are slow in stock form... especially if they're driven by people that don't know how to drive them, or mated to the wrong transmission. They have high, peaky powerbands. Anyone that doesn't know how to drive it will be slow as dirt. They're better suited to racing that involves more than a straight line.

The tranny is probably more important than anything else for a near stock NA B16. If the gearing puts it out of the powerband, it's a slug.
