ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

Just dont forget the aluminum radiator and some heat shield wrap for your turbo kit. Id even go with a intercooler, but ive never liked loseing my moter. It isnt cheap if i can do a build without blowing up my moter, id go that route then blow a good moter.so try not to up your compression thats what id do.

There is no need for a second fuel pump or a "high-flow" fuel rail, throw a replacement Walbro 255lph pump in the tank and be done with it. The stock fuel rail flows just fine.

The F22 cylinder head flows very well and a port/polish is probably not needed to reach 250whp. The valve size definitely does NOT need to be increased to reach the goal.

Forget about a lightened crank pulley and instead pull off the balance shaft belt. It's free and will gain you at least as much whp as a light pulley.

I "lightened" cam gear isn't really necessary but make sure you get an adjustable one such as what Bisimoto offers.

    And back on topic:

If it were my personal build and my goal was 250whp for a dependable daily driver, I'd stick to a lower compression ratio. No more than 9.5:1. I would probably go with 9.0:1 myself.

Does any one know about how much it cost for custom pistons from bisimoto?

I'm not sure, cheack his website, probably not the cheapest route for sure. Bisi has the most R&D behind his products than any other brands out there along with the absolute best quality, BUT for 250whp, you may be better off going with a different brand forged pistons.

You guys do know that bisi only designs the pistons, then outsources to someone piston manufacturer to make em...so quality is just as good as that manufacturer is.

I wouldn't waste money on pistons for anything under 300whp(FI).

What other brands are there that make 9:1 - 9.5:1?

Every brand can make whatever you want. It'll run you around $600 or so for custom spec pistons though.

U guys are really not giving the f22a block credit..

                400whp is capable..so why isn't 250whp capable as reliable..even on 91 octane?

                My suggestion?

                Make the head breathe

                Bisi cam
                Gutted IM
                70mm tb
                3" ic piping
                3" inlet/outlet fmic
                Holset hx35
                Shorty ram manifold
                3"dp/exhaust

And believe me even on a stock f22a..u will surpass 250whp..

just look at chessboxers setup, 250whp can easily be done on a DSM 16G setup around 10 psi, no need to build the engine for that goal

That is super old-school. I wouldnt go any lower than 9:1. Anything lower just kills your off-boost response, and doesnt really serve any purpose. If you cant tune a 9:1 motor safely with boost, you need to find another hobby. And there is zero logic in a supercharger being better for higher compression.

9.5 and even 10:1 would be fine if you have access to 93oct and are only running 8-15psi with a good tune. If you want to run a ton of boost, IE 20+, I would reccomend running w/m. You can get it to work just fine without, but you will be 1 bad tank of gas away from going BOOM, even with a good tune. Pump gas is not so consisent :*(. Another great option for high compression motors is E85.... Just finished up the fuel system in my C6 Corvette to handle E85 (two Bosch 044 pumps, 2L surge tank, 96lb injectors.... and two GT30R turbos

                            E85 isn't consitent either

Also...anywhere around the 8-9:1 compression is fine. You'll see maybe 10whp difference in 1 point in compression in the same setup.

Consistency isnt the idea. E85 burns far cooler and has a much higher octane rating (105) than pump gas. Way more headroom when you are tuning.

Anything below 9:1 is pretty pointless. Why would you run below that, especially on a low boost motor? My 2.1L hybrid/frankenstein VW stroker motor is setup at 10:1 and we are shooting for 900whp at 40+psi. Its all in the tune and knowing what youre doing

If that's the case, no reason to run forged slugs on such low boost period.

Also..e85 is inconsistent in their octane ratings. At the same pump, they'll change the mix up depending on the weather. This can be disastrous or very expensive if you're not your own tuner.

There's also no need to run high compression on most Honda's due to their VE. The boost response is still there with 8.0, even on a huge snail.

                                But I agree with you.
