Ok, so Ive taken my trans out like 5 times and this is the first time Ive encountered this problem. My CB makes this weird Grinding noise (NOT CLICKING) when in motion making left corners,(the noise originates from the pass side of car) not CV Boots but like something just isnt right. Now Ive inspected all of my suspension and yes some things need attention but this is weird. Left curves on any given road feel really unstable and as if the tire is about to fold over. Also the pass front tire is wearing on the outside to the tune of 2 tires a month. OH I almost forgot I mentioned taking the trans out because for those of you have done it, know that you have to remove the Right Radius rod. My first four times removing the trans i didnt remove it I just moved it, this time I actually took it out and now I think that has something to do with it, does it. This is my weekend warrior grocery getter and kid carrier so serious responses please. AM I GONNA DIE!!!

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Sounds like your axles may not be installed completely. People often push them in enough to put everything back together, but not far enough for the little snap ring to click into place.
You shouldn't be at any serious safety risk, as long as you don't abuse it... but I'd still take everything apart again, and make sure those axles are in securely.
Other than that, inspect all bushings and boots. If your ball joint boots are torn, you MUST replace the ball joints. If they fail, then you most certainly could die!

I was thinking bearings too
.
Water is one of the primary cause of wheel bearing wear because it can rust up the bearings easily, if the seals fail. You can check them by jacking the car up and wiggle the wheel in a rocking motion. Serviceable bearings generally allow slight movement, about 1/8 of an inch in free play. Anything more than that will require retightening the bearing, servicing the bearing or replacing the bearing. Our cars have press-in style bearings, they do not come as a hub assembly. Hope this helps

life is good.

X2, Did you tighten the axle nut tight?Originally posted by plee3 View PostHub bearings??
A loose axle nut can cause a similar noise as that holds everything together.

Honestly I didn't know where to begin so thanks for all the info. Would it being out of alignment cause the wear of the tire or the joints. That probably seemed like a dumb question but my steering wheel is centered and my car only drifts right ever so slightly. Hub bearings, do they kinda hum like you bought some cheap ass tires? If so that's one of my problems right there but. I'm off tomorrow so imma check it out. Thanks

why on earth did you have to remove it 4 times? Did you do a auto to 5spd swap or something? b/c if you did and didn't change out the mounts by either rewelding the bracket or didn't buy the ESP Auto-5spd mount, then your trans/engine will never sit right and could be causing you all the problems.

ask any lifetime mechanic. if it pulls, it pulls. no matter how much it does, it still does.Originally posted by carpet47 View PostHonestly I didn't know where to begin so thanks for all the info. definitely go back through and pull everything apart as you did when removing the tranny except actually removing it. then put it back together piece by piece carefully paying close attention. make sure everything is tight and in good shape. you'll find the source eventually.

You may just have a bent backing plate that is rubbing on the rotor, but as for the question if you are going to die. You need jack up the car and check out the front end for play. From the sound of your extreme tire wear you need an alignment or something is loose or broken in your front end. You also may have improperly installed or forgot a bushing in the radius rod. You said that you know that some things "need attention"... what parts are you talking about? When I tackle problems like this at work I fix what I know is broken first. Check out your front end first and determine what needs to be replaced. Then when its tight get it to an alignment shop I have never heard of someone having to replace two tires a month due to wear. If you are going to use this car to haul your children you should bring this car to a shop and get it looked at before putting your kids in it.....I hope this helps
