ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.
2 of 2 < >

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

I haven't put them in my CB9 yet but Bilstein HDs are the best shocks I have ever owned. I had them in my Volvo 240 wagon and they are also popular in the Porsche crowd (last I checked). Rockauto doesn't have them, though.

He clearly stated TRUNK Struts . . .

Sorry, you are right. I read "trunk" as "rear."

Ok. Sorry had to work a second shift then sleep lol. Anyway sorry if the question has been asked. Just looking for others opinions. I just don't want to buy new ones in a few weeks. Someone in another thread pointed me to rockauto and that's why I was looking there. I started on eBay

I bought a set of Monroe's from Rock Auto. Avoid them, the rods tend to pop off the balls at the top and the mounting bracket for one of them is rusting pretty badly after only a year or so.

Nobody is going to understand that you are asking about TRUNK STRUTS for a CB9... the things that hold the wagon's hatch open... and NOT the struts that hold your car up.

These, right here. This is what we're talking about (couldn't find a picture of a CB, but it gets the point across)

Anyway, I'd say that Rockauto will probably provide a quality part. I have no experience with trunk struts personally, as I've never owned a wagon, but Rockauto generally sells decent parts. The only other option I can think of is getting them directly from Honda. I'm sure you still can. They'll probably be twice as much as the Rockauto parts, though.

I understood, the Monroe's I mentioned were hatch struts. More and more I find myself buying Honda parts, even for my 90, they just always seem to work better and longer (I should have gotten the Honda hatch struts). Imagine that!

I used the most expensive ones they had on the site, I forget, but I'll check in a moment.
These things are freakin schaweeet! As good if not better then OEM.
You see those Stealership prices?!?!?!?!? Unbelieveable!

I called them and they were awesome to work with.

edit: I thought I paid like $36.00@ for mine, but looking at this page,
                          http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/raframecatalog.php
it appears the most expensive is only $20.00@
Perhaps because I ordered 2? ehh .. jus get um .. you'll love um ..
