ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

New spark plugs...which is the best?

I am about to replace the valve cover, gasket, plugs and wires. I got everything but the new plugs. Wondering if anyone had any reviews of good and bad plugs to get?

    Thanks in advance!

NGK or Denso are pretty much the best you can get. You really don't need anything fancy, unless you have some serious mods. The only thing you'll gain from using platinum or iridium plugs will be a longer interval between necessary plug changes.

Also, when you get wires, the best to get would be Sumitomo... the OEM wires. They're better than just about everything else on the market. A close second would be NGK (their blue wires, if there are any other options.)

          Very wise recommendations

NGK and Denso are by far the best quality in the industry for spark plugs. Between the two I have always used NGK, with the availability of several heat ranges and the quality of Iridium used.

For stock application, stick with factory recommend heat range and as deevergote mentioned, you'll gain longer interval between plug changes when using Iridium/Platinum.

Also, it would be smart to purchase a gapping tool, and learn how to use it properly. Most plugs come pre-gapped, but sometimes they're not gapped as they should be. Plug gap should be inspected when installing, and corrected if need be.

They're only like 75¢ or something, I haven't had to gap NGK plugs but I always check

I had to gap a set of iridium plugs that I got. I forget if they were NGK or Denso. I think NGK. 2 of the 4 were slightly off. Probably not enough to matter, but I fixed them anyway.

OEM Honda = Valve cover and valve cover gasket.
Spark Plugs and Wires = NGK

NGK is OEM recommended, always worked and should always will.
V-Power, G-Power or even Iridium is fine from NGK's spark plug line.
OEM Honda is fine for the gaskets, I don't see why you would need to replace the full valve cover unless it is damaged though.

NGK .. I used bosh platinum when I first got my 6gen accord and it really affected the high end of the power ban switched to NGK and it made a huge difference.

I would go with the best ngk has to offer. I think it is worth it.

You aren't supposed to gap iridium plugs. Huge potential for damaging the small/delicate electrode.

If you are trying to fix the oil on top of plugs issue, then be sure you get the full seal set, the seals under the cam rocker are not fun to get to and it is no fun to repeat your work if the initial fix did't really fix the problem. I had to do this when I first bought my CB7.
