ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

91 accord with H22, car acts like it has timing problems

    91 accord wagon EX

    car has:

    H22A4
    roughly a 98 or 99 motor

brand new distributor, jdm H22 OBD1
    93-96 USDM H22 injectors
    P13 ECU
    F22A6 wiring harness
new plugs, wires, cap, rotor button

has 200 PSI across all 4 cylinders

I just got done driving the car for the first time since 4/07

I’ve got a vacuum line undone to keep the idle decent, otherwise it will die with sudden throttle plate closure.

when i put the stock ecu back in, check engine light works good, self tests at accessory position II, and comes on for codes

then if i put the p13 back in, i get no check engine light period

i have no checking engine light to go off of. Even though i know its throwing some.

I went and filled it up with fresh premium.

Even with the engine warmed up, if you shut it off and restart, it idles like at 300rpm and if i give it throttle, it spudders.

After about 10-15 seconds of running like this, it stops. Like a light switch. Instantly runs good.

When driving, the car feels out of time. If standing on the passenger side of the car and looking towards the driver’s side, I’ve got the distributor turned as far as it goes in a clockwise direction. Even then it still feels sluggish under a load.

I do not have vtec or the sensor next to it wired up yet. Its the least of my concern.

I’ve also recently heard that I may need my knock sensor hooked up, but if that’s a big problem, how come when I put the stock ECU back in, it runs the same? The stock ECU isn’t looking for a knock sensor, so I’m ruling it out of the equation for now.

When driving, the car falls on its face at any RPM under 2000, obviously due to the timing

While I had the car at my dads shop, they checked the timing a bunch of times, so I’m pretty certain that its good.

Please provide feedback, even if your comment is “I’ve got no clue”

Moderators, please remove my old post, I have no clue how to change the title of that post. I posted in that post asking for help on this subject and I received no replies

The dizzy is turned all the way, and the timing still shows correct?
Physically check the cam timing, Take the rocker cover off and check it.

You say you have codes - Why not read them?

Also you can delete your own thread, We don't need to do it for you.

Well, you are guessing at a lot of stuff here, how did you set your timing to begin with and the problem to me honestly sounds like your problem is lack of knowledge.

Do you have adjustable gears on your cam shafts? Maybe your timing belts and cams aren't working together and your intake/exhaust timing is off. With DOHC, timing is more than the dizzy, plus it sounds like you are guessing with your adjustments. This will cause the car computer to fight harder to run the motor further complicating the problem.

Haven't used a timing light yet. Ive been adjusting it and driving. Then adjusting and driving. I will use a light this weekend.

How come my check engine light won't turn on with this ECU?

I had a code 5 with the other computer plugged in. I believe it was a map code.

          Yes, quit guessing.

Using the right tool for the job will net you a correct diagnosis.

Yea, Don't do that, its a real fast way to cause damage.

Even if you check the ignition timing and it reads correct, the timing can still be out on the intake cam.

Taker the cover off and check it properly.

why not finish hooking up all the wires instead of causing more problems

the reason why you car could be running like hell for 15 seconds then stopping could be due to during those 15 seconds the car is looking for a sensor but when it cant find it, it just substitutes based off of other sensors

                I don't have a silly timing cover.

My main concern is the ECU not letting my light work. Anybody have any ideas on that?
