ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

    car running cold

This morning it was a little cold out there, at least for us lol, it was the first time I've been in cool weather in this car and I haven't had the car for a very long. Anyway I notice on my way to work, especially during highway speeds, the car's temperature stayed very low. Is is normal for these cars to do this?

after a drive maybe 10 minutes feel both radiator hoses, they should be both the same and hot.

If not then its a classic sign of a bad thermostat. Get an oem and nothing else.
What makes me laugh about forums, is that no matter how much you try to help someone, they dont take the advice. Go ahead and do it the hard way.

You got to respect what you drive, and appreciate what you have, making the best of what you got. and if that means putting CAI, HID's, a phat stereo system, and a idiot in the drivers seat...then so be it!

I think I know what is the problem. This morning when I put the defrost on I notice it never got warm until I turned it off then it slowly warmed up to operating temperature, but it only start getting back to normal temps when I was idling.

Using the defrost button will activate your a/c which thus kicks on the fans, which can lead to an overcooling situation if your thermostat for example is stuck open. You can get a new OEM one from a Stealership for under $20 last time I checked.

There should be several dealerships in Houston. I bought my Fit from John Eagle, and several other trinkets off the 219 over by Copperfield, but I have also gotten parts before from Gilman off the 59 feeder, but for my own personal reasons with their service department wouldn't buy anything from that particular one again.

That, or it was someone's ghetto "performance modification".
Glad you fixed it before any damage was done! Always keep an eye on your gauges.

I always tell people that if the car didn't need a thermostat then Honda would not have spent money and time engineering one into the cooling system

Using the "Defrost" button only directs the air to the windshield. You have to turn on the "AC" button as well to activate the air conditioning system to dry the air.

I was beginning to think my defroster wasn't working since I always have to turn on the AC.
