is there any way a k24z7 could swap into my 92 accord? I have been thinking of trying it for a while but wanted some input first.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)
Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.
These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.
1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.
2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.
3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.
4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.
The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.
The rules for the overall forum can be found here:
http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/forumdisplay.php?f=144
Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

Why didn't you bother to search on this at all before you posted? K-series swaps are something that have been done many times to this chassis and the information is out there in regards to who has done what. The technical instructions for pulling it off are mostly up to you given that you already understand that custom mounts and mounting brackets will be required along with custom axles, fuel, powersteering and A/C lines as well as a large amount of wiring. Are you up to handle this? If you're asking these basic questions on a forum and don't have the ability to search, doubtful. My Members' Ride Thread - It's a marathon build, not a sprint. But keep me honest on the update frequency!

Understandable... but actually spending a few moments searching before asking a common question will get you much better replies.
The K24 found in the Accord and TSX will fit with current swap kits. The Civic's K24 may work, as it is based on the Accord engine... but the previous Civic K20 will not work without modification of that kit. Your best bet would be to do some research on that engine, and whether or not it is similar to the Accord or Civic engine in terms of mounting points.

Scott used the K24 out of a CR-V, the corresponding kit from HaSport was completely custom. The kit you buy from them today off the shelf wouldn't work for that application and I doubt the Civic either.Originally posted by GhostAccord View PostDoesn't Scott, 2point6, have a K swap in his Collective Racing CB? I remember watching a video stating that the Accord/TSX engine and transmission wor with the aftermarket K swap mounts.'94 JDM H22A: 178whp 146wtq

They mention that the kit is made to work with the Accord/TSX... They had to modify it to run the CR-V K24.

Correct. Though the K24 in the Civic Si is rather unknown. This is the first Civic to feature a K24, so we don't know much about it.
The question is legitimate... if lazy.
Chances are slim that someone would have an engine from a 2 year old $20,000+ car in a CB7 by now. It's not a reasonable option, price-wise.

If there is one car in my auto industry experience that rarely gets totaled, it's the Civic Si. People who drive them just don't wreck, not seriously enough anyways. He'd have to find a lemon to get a chance at the engine, which is about 1 out of every 19,000 Civics made, and luck up on the fact that the lemon was an Si.Originally posted by deevergote View PostChances are slim that someone would have an engine from a 2 year old $20,000+ car in a CB7 by now. In all honesty I think this is one of those "I'm new here and I need to garner attention to myself" threads. He got it I guess.

You are most likely correct. Based on the similarity between the last gen Civic and the current one, I would wager a guess that the oil pan on the new Civic also has the engine mount integrated into it, like the K20Z3 does. That doesn't make it impossible, and I think you only have to swap oil pans, as most of the other mounts can be made to work, but it is just one additional step on an engine that would be WAAAAAY overpriced anyway.Originally posted by deevergote View PostCorrect. The reason it would be a poor choice for an engine is that A) they are still rare and expensive, B) it sucks in terms of performance potential. With the lack of exhaust VTEC and the integrated exhaust manifold, the K24Z7 essentially tops out at 220-230WHP, which pales in comparison to some of the 300+ NA WHP K series running around using an older K24 block and a proper DOHC VTEC head. Of course you could boost the shit out of it, but then you could do that on a cheaper K24 with a proper VTEC head and still win by a longshot. Plus, these new integrated exhaust manifold heads are apparently more susceptible to overheating the exhaust ports and the integrated portion because they don't have cooling built in to maintain CHT's in that region of the head.
Rumor has it that the new range of turbo engine coming out of Honda (including the 280+HP 2.0T in the Civic Type R) integrate cooling into the exhaust ports for that very reason.
Also, contrary to the K24Z7 fanboy cries on forums, it should be noted that virtually every single 2013-2014 Si running in a sactioned race event has replaced the turd of a K24Z7 head with the far superior head from the K20Z3, so they really aren't a K24Z7 anymore.

/ End Thread. Seriously though, if you have a CB7, you're probably better off building an F/H series, either N/A or Turbo. It costs a lot to be 'leading edge', especially when it comes to car modification.Originally posted by owequitit View PostThe reason it would be a poor choice for an engine is that A) they are still rare and expensive, B) it sucks in terms of performance potential. So you actually have this engine in your possession?Originally posted by barefoot2012 View Postwow you know what, I thought this would be a good idea to gain information but I guess not. thanks for the information I guess I will just keep my engine and boost it.
No offense to you but we get these threads all the time. "How do I swap a J37 into my CB7?" yada yada yada....
These are normally newbies with just pipe dreams that we never hear from again. I've been at this for 10 years myself, so history has been a good teacher.
Even still, armed with that information there is little we can share to help you; other than the revelation that you will need custom mounts, and the standard K-Swap package that comes with these engines....custom engine management, axles, wiring harness, header, etc. In the parts alone you're near $10,000-$13,000 cash, unless you got that engine for the price of ricecakes in China; which still ends up to around $5,000-$8,000.
You apparently didn't even read that article you googled yourself. Why don't you go do that....along with the wiki article on the CR-V.Originally posted by Accord problems View Posti thought the cr-v had b20b in them ?
