ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

    Brake lights not working

Hello to all, I have an issue with my brake lights not turning on when stepping on the brake pedal. All running lights work. I have checked fuses and they seem good. I also checked and replaced the brake sensor from the brake pedal but nothing. I'm wondering if I'm missing to check something else. If anyone knows where the grounds are located for brake lights much appreciated.

So digging through the manual the ground for the tail lights go to G501 ground. This ground is located under the drivers seat seat / rug. But would share the same ground as the other lights back there (same harness).

Did you replace the bulbs recently? If so did you replace them with the correct bulbs? 1157?

My guess is the brake pedal stop pad has split and fell out preventing the brake light switch from functioning. Follow the brake pedal up behind the dash. Locate the switch. See if the switch goes through a hole in the pedal arm when you push in the brake. That hole isn't supposed to be there because it's normally filled with a stopper. Hopefully that makes sense.
If so, this is what you need: GENUINE HONDA ACURA BRAKE OR CLUTCH PEDAL STOP PAD BUTTON 46505-SA5-000
Or you can simply put a couple zip ties in the hole. Works well.

I was initially thinking this, but I have had that part fail on me multiple times and have since put a bolt in its spot, which i know won't split. But I believe you have it backwards, when you push on the brake pedal, the switch plunger extends which closest circuit to illuminate the lights. When you release the pedal the pad causes the plunger to retract and then causes an open in the switch and then kills the brake lights. At least this is how it works for the manual version, though I don't think the two different pedal mechanics vary.

Grumpy is correct, without something in the hole, the brake lights would be on all the time. I've used a front fender liner clip in place of the rubber piece. The OP needs to get out his multi-meter and start tracing the wiring.

Ahhh, okay. That makes sense. I've only had to fix the clutch switch on mine after I determined it to be the cause of a no start issue. Pushing the clutch pedal away opens the switch. I assumed the brake switch functioned the same.
