    Oh the humanity...

Sooo, last night on my way home from work, I stopped at the local Walmart to get some groceries. I did my shopping and was walking back out of the entrance when I noticed a group of people staring towards the parking lot. I proceeded out side and saw to my dismay, my car NOT where I parked it.

My first thought was, "Did I not set my E-brake!?", then I saw what had happened. Someone had pulled into the stall in front of me and didn't stop, they just drove into my car and pushed it out of its spot and across the lane of the parking lot. We're talking a 3200 lb car being pushed a car length and a half with the emergency brake on.

After seeing what happened, my next statement was "Are you ****ing kidding me!!!!????", to which someone replied, "Is that your car?". I almost punched him.

A little old lady in her 1996 Toyota Camry said she has no idea what happened and that her car just didn't stop. And I'm not exaggerating the old. She had a disabled placard hanging from her rearview mirror (which stopped her from being forced into disability by myself) and was wearing a brightly colored sequined track suit....

I got all the information I needed from her and I had the cops come out even though its "private property" and they don't have jurisdiction. He told her in no uncertain terms that she hit a car that was parked and unoccupied making her 100% at fault here...

I'm contacting my insurance with her information. Hopefully they just fix it, if they decide to total it (completely possible) than I can hopefully get it for salvage price and have enough cash to go strip an accord at the JY that has a completely straight front end.

As of just looking at it, these are the definite parts needed: Hood (obviously) bumper, core support, radiator (I could hear it releasing steam), fenders, at least one headlight, and corner lights. Then the car would have to be resprayed...

So...without further ado, here's the carnage:

If I may, I'd like to have everyone bow their head in silence for a few moments.

signed: Seriously sad about the state of humanity that would allow such a thing to happen to this lovely cd5...

    I'm sorry for your loss.

The story itself, however, well written and amusing.

Damn man. That sucks. Being a Toyota had nothing to do with it. It's a long story, but all those "my car just didnt stop" cases....were all people ages 60 and up.

If she had a handicapped placard, WHAT THE FUCK(!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1111111111!) was she doing parking in a non-handicap spot?!? THAT pisses me off SO MUCH!!

Good luck and i hope it all works out for you man.

No!!! Damn, I am sorry to hear this. I know how much work you put into those headlights. That really does suck.

At least the intersection lights came out scratch free. Now would be a good time to upgrade to a '96-'97 bumper.

Let us know if they are going to pay for your car. Hoping they will!

          Update:

Geico accepted liability of the damage and they're setting me up with a rental car (stupid Kia Rondo's) and my car will be towed to the adjuster and valued and we'll find out if they total it next week

Ummm... I sort of like those. I'd really like them if they weren't made by Kia.

I've driven a kia rondo as well. The v6 with the awd is pretty good. But still not my car. I love my car.

Anyone know what the salvage price is of our cars?

Thanks for the kind words of support guys. (even the ones who want to lynch the old lady)

I picked up the Kia, meh, its not my Accord. The adjuster called and said my car will be moved today or tomorrow and he should have his estimate within 48 business hours. I should hear back by Tuesday...

I'm freaking out a little bit about it because if they don't give me a decent amount for my car I'm kind of screwed. I'm going to start going through the paperwork on building a house...which means I can't alter my credit right now. Therefore, if I need a little bit of financing, I can't!

Oy. So far, I found a 1996 Accord Wagon EX for 3900...its got 176k on it, but that's basically 30k less than my car. Its one owner too.

I also found a 2000 Volvo S40 Turbo Sedan (not my favorite)

The wife found a Tahoe with 80k on it for like 4500. Its got 22's and navi and video....

Hopefully they give me enough and I can just pay salvage for it and go get some parts....

My thoughts exactly. At least you hadn't put the lip on yet eh? I can sell you my EDM black housing headlights for somewhat cheap if you don't mind doing some work to restore them.

What kind of restoring are we talking? And how's the light output on those bad boys? Blackhoused right? Otherwise, I'll pick up some stockies and mod em again.

I'll check around for the upgraded bumper The accord that I found at the yank a part was a 94-95 and had completely straight front bumper, fenders, hood and headlights. I imagine the core support was good too...

Speaking of which, since I can't go check, are those spot welded in? Or are they bolted in...the core supports anyways... Oy.

I'm still saddened by this, you never really know how much you love your car till its raped

I had an 85 year old man run me off of the road while running into the front left of my old CB. My CB got raped by a Chrysler K car.
