They aren't. What would even give you that impression from the context of this thread?

now that I know about the flushmount offered on the vigor and that it is only jdm and not a usdm which I assumed from how the legend came with a short flushmount. I was simply seeing if I could in fact find a vigor with one

"They aren't" applied to it being JDM. My mistake on the confusion there.

                  Not bad looking IMO.

I prefer the OEM flushmount my self.

Japan never had a car named "Vigor". That is a North American name only.

The Acura Vigor was known as the Honda Vigor in Japan, sold alongside the Honda Accord, Honda Accord Inspire and the Honda Ascot. Despite maybe looking similar at first glance, the Honda Vigor and the Honda Inspire of the same time are designed differently, though they share the same motor and probably a few other pieces. The Inspire during the Acura Vigor's time did not come overseas (only the Honda Vigor with the G25A motor was sold in America), and it was only when the Vigor failed to break into the market that it was replaced by the next generation Honda Inspire, rebadged as the Acura TL.

Some Acura Vigors are equipped with a spoiler that is mounted to and hugs the top of trunklid, unlike the Accord flushmoint spoiler which is mounted on the backside for a more sleeker appearance. This spoiler contains an LED Brake Light, so you will need to find a replacement for that brake light or hope the one it comes with works. The Vigor flushmount is a lot more prominent uptop and doesn't really "pull" the car back, in a visual sense. I'm sure you notice how the SC300 spoiler flows straight back and doesn't add to the height of the trunk... with that said, the Accord's flushmount spoiler is more similar to the SC300/400 flushmoint spoiler that you are interested in, so if that's the look you want you may have to look into finding an accord flushmount, although the vigor is halfway there. OEM or replica will do, most of the new replicas out now have bolts which will help hold it in place OE style. For OEM look hard, but be patient. Although they are hard to come by, they do come up. either on the forums or on eBay. I would recommend not to jump on an OEM one right away unless YOU feel it is a good deal, as their prices are subject to the seller, who may or may not be reasonable or willing to help out a new fellow member. Don't forget there is always the replica option (and they will most always be in great condition, since the material on the OEM ones tend to have deteriorated if not treated properly) and quite a few members on the forums have purchased early replicas (some even without the bolts) and I have not seen one disappointed owner yet.

Fitment on the replicas are pretty spot-on according to many of the owners comments and pictures, so if you're just in it for the appearance and not really the rarity then i would recommend a replica, as they're crafted meticulously (the makers are even on this forum), unless of course you come across an OEM for, I emphasize, what YOU feel is a good deal.

                        .
This was true for the 3rd-4th generation JDM Vigors. The 1st and 2nd gen Honda Vigors were actually still just Accords but with better engines and optional nit-nacks not found on a regular accord.

We actually have a first gen Vigor stateside....the 2nd and 3rd gen accord share the same exact body.....but yup, we got the watered down versions so it lost it's "Vigor" badging.

this is why its a great thing to share in a fourm

I was looking into the flushmount for at few reasons. the look of my actual spoiler.is great but I ended up getting one that broke a bolt so all I can use is four of the five studs
, I replaced my stock trunk springs but when I close it it falls hard if I dont pay attention ( which after my friend slamed it as I told him not to the left side cracked .... third is I am very much a.fan of the led bar and like the look of it a lighter spoiler or flushmount with led bar is what I am really interested in

Thank you for that information! it's always good to know the history of our vehicles, across the world.

I also found this thread that contains lots more information in-depth

                            http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthre...re+tail+lights

but I digress, we are getting off topic, though this is a great topic as well!

So yeah, depending on what flushmount you choose is how you want your rear end to look and what would best complement your accord's body style.

                            -----------------------------------

These are my tips (based on proportions... I discussed this with a member, Joshy, a while back)

The vigor flushmount is beefier, and the accord flushmount is sleeker and more understated. so you need to have a nice balance between 2 factors: your trunk style and your car body style.

The coupe trunk style has longer tail lights, which takes up a nice chunk of visual space on your rear end. If you put the accord flushmount on a coupe trunk, the tail lights may draw more attention than the flushmount, visually, and may make the accord flushmount appear less impressive. However, the vigor flushmount (or EX and SE spoiler, for that matter) will add height to the rear trunk and help balance the attention from the tail lights to between the spoiler and tail lights.

The sedan trunk style has smaller tail lights, so if you add the vigor flushmount, you may make the tail lights look smaller, but you will add height and size to the rear end. an accord flushmount on a sedan trunk is pretty balanced, visually. the tail lights aren't too big, so attention can be given to the flushmount. the rear will maintain the same projected area.

A coupe body style benefits from looking sleek because of having only 2 doors, whereas a sedan body style has a visually larger appearance, because of 2 more doors than the coupe. Balance is very important for things to not look out of place, so choose your flushmount to complement the trunk and body style, whether you want to slim down your car or make it look more aggressive.

Connecting back with your original post, the Lexus SC400 flushmount adds to the sportiness of the car because it adds another line and detail to the rear end (when sunlight hits the rear, you notice something different... like plain econobox bumpers versus mercedes or BMW bumpers that have creases or what not to catch light and display sharp edges). however, the car remains sleek because the flushmount does not change the rear projected area, and also serves to extend the body lines of the car.

So I found a flush mount for the vigor. question is did any company make a aftermarket one? I cannot find honda stamped on it only numbers. and lastly it looks like (from setting it on another jy accord) that centered it is just a little smaller than the accord spoiler. its in rough shape and im going to re paint it but I am curious if it is a genuine peice or replica
