I have been using Fluid Film for years. My old 4Runner was full of the stuff, it would have burned for weeks
. Its great stuff, you want something that stays wet - if it dries out, its no good. Keep in mind. You can fill your wheel wells full of what ever you want, if you didn't get rid of the rust first, you only created a cocoon for the rust to grow. Water/dampness can get almost anywhere, one way or another.
In my opinion, oil the car = good, dripless undercoat = better. I touch my vehicles up periodically over the winter with Fluid Film, wheel wells, inner truck etc. Wash you car lots, just don't freeze your doors shut!
