Brake light out ... not really

So recently my brake light out indicator on the dash has come on, funny thing is that ALL of my brake lights still function.

I'm guessing a short somewhere, but could this be a sign of a bigger problem?

mine came on a couple of weeks ago and I thought the same thing. But it ended up being the connector. One of my connectors was corroded and not passing current. Another thing ive had problems with was my third brake light. It came on with that, but the bulb wasnt completely on the connector either.

Yup, connectors or a faulty black/brown box.

I had that moment after I purchased 4 new bulbs :/ so im glad I could help a little even if that isnt the problem.

another thing is use dielectric grease!!! no one uses it,(including myself), that is what prevents corrosion and moisture from getting inside to the connectors.

Went out to check wiring and the light was off. Going to have to wait until it becomes consistent.

And here I was thinking you were going to help me with my third brake light issues. You can't even take care of your own! I swear, you just can't find good help these days.

              I kid, of course.

Well if that's the case I should be able to walk out to mine and it will be fixed as well, right? My front ground problem also? Thanks.

Sure, just use the uber cheat code. Up up down down left right left right B A start.

On a serious note I hope the problem returns and stays consistent. That way I can really diagnose it. I'll keep up on the thread if I figure it out.

I had this problem and in the engine bay by the resevoir there are two wires that go to the top.
Apparrently I had spilled brake fluid on them and the were stuck together shorting each other out. I taped them up seperately and the problem went away

                      worth a look anyway.

Steve, wrong brake light... Not the service light, but the bulb out light.

I shook all connections and still have not had it repeat. My guess is a loose filament in the bulb. I'm going to closely inspect all of the bulbs today and see if any have sagging or loose filament.
