can an aftermarket harness from autozone for example work to power the fogs. i am planning on using the oem switch?

yes, if u wire them to the oem switch of course. any harness will work with the oem switch as long as u wire it correctly.

no no i mean like what other plugs in our car will plug right into the OEM plug. (ex. the plug for hazzard switch could plug into the fog switch but needs to be re wired of course.)

okay the brake light plug that goes to the outer light plugs into the foglight switch... just found this out.

You will need to mod it (add the 12v wire which is blank on the brake molex), but yes it does plug into the oem fog switch....

You could also get the molex from the pass side rear tail light of a mid 90's prelude or either side of a acura vigor. These are plug and play, no need to mod. I am sure there are other cars with this molex also, but these are the ones that I have seen in person....

the red and red/black wires, it doesnt matter which is which. this step is strictly for illumination, so youre just piggybacking off the wiring that leads to the defrost button.

yes (pins A and D are reversible). it will work perfectly if you wire it up as indicated.
