Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

bro, there's nothing wrong with the k. they build the most power with mpg's you can get. there's a guy in my area gets 41mpg with a 271whp rsx. but i will tell you it is pricey but you can save money. just get the k24 out of the tsx it unlike the accord has vtec on both cams. and they do respond to mods well.
    $3800 for engine and trans
    http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30034
    $650 (roughly) for mounts shipped
    http://www.tasauto.com/Product/Detai...003&d=1583&p=1
$450 for swap header if you need it(never done one so idk)
    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...em=#vi-content
    $1000-1800 for kpro
    http://www.hondata.com/kpro.html
$500-1000+/- custom fuel lines, coolant lines, radiator, axles, ect. to install

    so $6500-$8000+/- to get started
then with about $1500 worth of bolt ons or more you can achieve this

if you want it bro i support it. ive gone through what you are going through. only with a built f-series so dont knock the f. he's old school but the f is the h, the k's and the new f's daddy. most power all motor belongs to a stock crank f22ax.

hondatunning did the swap for 4500, with the stock k24a4. it depends on if your paying retail or getting the hook up on parts what the total price would be. shop online at discount dealers for oem parts, and ebay for aftermarket and you can save alot of money. if you have local junkyards that dont rape you, you can also save alot of money there.

did they do it for that in a cb? id imagine if you were really connected with some people and places and had really good luck you could do it for about 5k. i personally like the k. its dohc vtec without the drawbacks of the h22 and the lack of discplacement of the b-series. besides honda found a way to make most of its torque in the higher rpms without being a dog at lower rpms. i rode in my buddy's ep3 with the k24 bottom end and i have to say the f or the h wont be doing that kind of pulling on the street without race a race cam. its like it just keeps pulling and never stops. if i could afford it id do the swap on that basis. the feeling of driving a properly tuned k on the street is unmatched but on the track i'll stick with my f. and besides my f came in my car, it as cheap and easy without any stds and you know us guys. cheap n easy without consequences is always a good time, lol.

          $5K for 160 crank HP?

U can sleeve + turbo an F22A for that.

If $$$$ is at all a factor, the K makes no sense, IMO, unless u have a car that came with it.

Agreed. The K will make more sense when there is NO aftermarket left for the F and H motors... then again, the CB7 itself will be fairly obsolete (more than it is now) by that time as well.

The K series has amazing potential. Fantastic technology, even in the crappy ones.
BUT, the F and H series motors can make more than enough power for a street-driven car, reliably, for less.

The only good reason to do a K swap is to be unique... and the more often it is done, the less unique the cars become. That, or the reasoning of "I want to"... which is always valid. What is best, cheapest, most effective, etc... doesn't matter if the reasoning is nothing more than "I want to do it". Like my 5200rpm VTEC engagement point. I know 4800 would be optimal, and that the "kick" isn't a sign of a smooth, effective power curve... but I enjoy it.

its was in a cd5, but it requires the exact same parts to put it in a cb.

to me, and this is me. the money doesnt matter. so yes i could have spent less and had a turbo f or h. but i have had both and i want something different. if they had mount kits to put a Jseries in a cb i would have that. but the k is the next best thing. H22's are too common and becoming out dated.

do what you can afford or desire. these debates about k vs f/h is really getting old. if someone wants to do a kswap, dont discourage them and say why do that when you can build a h or f and go turbo. if thats what they wanted they wouldnt be posting asking questions about kswaps. i dont care how you look at it. right now kswaps in accords are different. i remember back in 03 i had a h22 in my 5th gen and there were very few people in my area that had h swaps. now everyone with an accord has a h22. its a easy and cheap. if you want easy and cheap go that route. i wanted something not everyone would have and yes i want people to see it. and when they ask who did it. i can say i spent the money and man hours putting it together.

i am so done with this subject. i have been having the same convo for the past 2 years.

Exactly. That's the "I want to" angle... which really can't be argued by anyone.

If the ONLY goal is the horsepower, that can be done cheaper. If the goal is the K itself, then that can only be done with a K.

It's like painting your white car black. Sure, to do it right, you have to pull everything out and paint every bit of white metal black. It's cheaper to just buy a black car. But it's not the same car. It's not what you want.

if it wasn't for this deev character, we would not be on this website lol

we had a huge bitch-out on bisi's facebook over the K, F and H series lol. people love what they love, i want a CB chassis on an RWD train powered by a VG30-DETT but i don't have the money to do that, so im getting a 90's 300zx, its cheaper that way but its not what i want... everyone has their different opinions on what goes in their cars, for now i just wanna make AoM

                        RSXtypeSs go for around $6,000-9,000.
Even '05-'06s w/ low miles are in the $9,000-14,000 area.

Have you checked craigslist or autotrader? You can easily pick up an RSXtypeS in good condition for around 6-7grand if you look hard.

I almost bought an '03 for $5,500. It had around 80K miles in perfect condition. I didn't have the cash at the time and missed it. But they are out there, you just have to look.

I'd rather have a CB7 than an RSX, personally. I'm not a fan of the RSX's appearance.

I'd almost be tempted to hack out the underside of my cb and install a full R32 GTR driveline, RB26DETT included. It's an idiotic swap, and I could probably find a US-legal GTR for less... but I would have my CB doing what I want it to do. Sometimes, that's what makes a project worthwhile.
