Well speaking of the F22B, all that motor is is pretty much the F22 block with an H23 head, right? Correct me if I'm wrong. If I'm right, is there going to be a difference between the actual F22B and doing a DIY F22 with an H23 head? I have my other motor that I just got an H23 head for, and I plan on putting it on there, I know there's little modification that needs to be done, but I'm wondering exactly how much the H23 head will raise the compression to. That's my biggest wonder right now with that motor. And anybody that has an F22B, or a DIY F22 w/ H23 head, what do you think of it, I mean is it still strong enough for an average of 10 to 12 psi or is it bringing up the compression enough to where I have to worry about how much boost I put into it? 'Cause if I'm not mistaken, the F22B stands at like 160 hp doesn't it? Just wanting opinions on that motor

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.
The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.
For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.
Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.
Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

How much boost?

it would be about the same as a dohc f22b. the cr should be around 9.2:1.
what did you mean that it would bring up the compression enough that you wouldnt have to worry about how much boost you run?
Just to let you know, the higher the cr, there will be a greater chance of detonation.
The engine will be able to handle as much boost as it would have before the head swap. the head doesnt really make a diff. in how much boost u can run, its the block, ringlands, sleeves, pistons that decide that. It's still an f22 block, that with good tuning, you can run 12psi daily.
Like i said, you will be able to run the same amount of psi you would have before, but now, you have more power to start with. So, lets say that before the head, you were running 10 psi, stock block, nothing else done to the engine, and you made around 220whp, now, with the head on, you make around ~240whp. (those numbres are not real, im just giving you a ruff estimate of about how much the difference would be)

It also depends on how you thrash the engine. If you boost the F to 12psi and drive it like a granny, except for drag runs and the occasional PWNAGE, it'll last a hell of a lot longer than an F boosted to 7-8psi that gets thrashed daily. Tuning is the critical factor though.

The two cylinder heads are not exactly identical. See, the F22b cylinder head combustion chamber is 85.5mm (or just 85) while the H23 is 87mm. See which means the two head should not create the same bump in compression. Similar bump, yes but not same.Originally posted by boostn91lxWell speaking of the F22B, all that motor is is pretty much the F22 block with an H23 head, right? Correct me if I'm wrong. Second, if you slap a F22b head on a F22a block, you may neighborhood 160hp...I would not bet on it, but you may.
And will the F22b handle 12lbs of boost?
Seriously, I do not advise more than 8 for daily. However I did play around on the dyno on turkey day and take it up to 15lbs of boost all the way to redline on a 50trim T04b. I did not measure the power, I wanted to see if a cylinder was gonna fly out. Needless to say it took the beating @ 7k. However, just remember me saying its not recommended.

yo turbo 90 accord
wut up man im bout to get my accord and I'm going the turbo route, but I gotta ask you a question are you running 14lbs of boost on stock internals,, ha cuz if so I wanna do that lol I'm gona try to turbo my accord when I get it ,but I am on a budget lol and I know that Pistons and Rods and all that shit is pretty exspensive but I just wanted to know if you were runnin that much psi on stock internals.. peace AdisonGOT REBEL?

BustedLX and Rickyduckworth got on him a while ago. Locked up his thread and all. I would have bumped i up for all to see.Originally posted by 92HondaEXwth??! Does anybody listen to the experts or the experienced? I'm sorry, but from what I'm hearing, I wouldn't take turbo90accord advice....
I hope you do not really have a F20b and are considering turbo...Anyhow on a F22 you can get high in boost, however the block is open deck so the sleeves will move somewhat. Some people slap in block guards, however the absolute best thing to do is resleeve. If you can tune well you can go up to 14lbs easily.Originally posted by f20baccordwut up man im bout to get my accord and I'm going the turbo route, but I gotta ask you a question are you running 14lbs of boost on stock internals,, ha cuz if so I wanna do that lol I'm gona try to turbo my accord when I get it ,but I am on a budget lol and I know that Pistons and Rods and all that shit is pretty exspensive but I just wanted to know if you were runnin that much psi on stock internals.. peace Adison

you could fill the block with aluminum filling that expand the same rate as the block...Originally posted by AcclipseH23BustedLX and Rickyduckworth got on him a while ago. Locked up his thread and all. I would have bumped i up for all to see.

has anyone heard of block posting? it's a poor mans way of a block guard, and I heard it works very well. I heard that if you block post, and fill, it will be just like a block gaurd, except better b/c u can drill holes in the filling, to allow for coolant to still get through.
heres more info on it.
