    stupid map sensor

ok i know im not the only person with this problem and i have been on this site for about 2 hours reading about the same problem. im not asking how to or what to do i want to know what is the proper way to deal with this map sensor for a jdm h22a in 92 ex. as of now my car is running to rich and im useing the black box still. i just want my car to run 100%. Every thread I read up on people talking about running rich or not idle correctly. which method is the best way to make my car run correctly.

    1) I read that you splice the wires into your harness for the map senor and just plug it into the TB.

    2) another way i read was to take apart the black box use the map senor and wire it right in and throw away the rest of the things? but what about the EGR

    3) is to leave the black box the way it is with the map senor in it and figout were each vaccum line goes. ( which is how i have it now)

I used a jumper harness from the plug on the black box to the map on the throttle body. I don't have a vacuum line going to the black box.

My setup goes. Accord harness map plug-3 wire plug-h22 MAP wire plug -MAP on Tb.
    If that makes sense.

However I am having some idle issues with my H22 but only when I have a load on the engine ie a/c or using the lights.

I am running a s300 with a pherable map. I sent them a ? and their answer was I should pay for an e tune.

I cut the MAP plug and wire from my h22 harness. I found a 3 wire plug that fit the accord map. I then soldered thataccord plug onto the H22 MAP plug and wire. This way I didn't cut the harness.

Thats why I have that diagram above.

Photos I took a while back of my MAP setup. My custom sub-harness isn't the cleanest idea, but it does the job. I left the black box in to keep the stock EGR, but for the MAP I simply bypassed the box. The rectangular connector is from the Accord's harness, and the circular connector came with the H22. The first photo shows where I cut the wires and soldered them into a new circuit.

So, stock, there would be wires going from the rectangle connector to the black box. Instead, I made them go from the rectangle connector to the new TB-mounted MAP sensor. Photo #2 shows which wires match.

*ED. - This isn't the first time I've posted the images, and I doubt it'll be the last, so I made this circa-'90s pic in Paint!

Vacuum line locations don't matter, you get the same amount of vacuum plugging into any part of the manifold.

I drilled and tapped the tb to 1/8 npt and ran a line to the cb map sensor on the firewall

Its so much easier to use the TB based map on the obd2. you don't to worry about the vac lines leaking and you get to eliminate one more hose. Plus if you running a p28 you can get rid of the whole black box.

why not just use the stock map sensor? i have a obdii h22a4 and i just reused the stock accord one. ran the vacuum and i havent had a single problem. i still have the obdii one on the tb.

egr, once again, use the stock f22 one with a vac line and all the solenoids in the emissions box on firewall. easy.

I got rid of the black box but my h22 sensor was broken when I got my motor so I used what I had. There are a lot of options when it comes to the map sensor

I make a plug and play harness for the throttle body map sensor to the stock accord plug. I am going to do a write up on it if I find some time. I'll post up more detailed info tonight.
