    Weird Problems

I've replaced my passenger side break light housing and fixed the leaking as well as replaced some of the parts a couple times, but whenever it rains the break light (on the dash) comes on and I double check everything and nothing is leaking anymore. Is this a common problem?

Also when it's cold or rainy outside my ABS light on the dash doesn't come on anymore but when it starts to get nice and warm out the light comes back on, so I was wondering if anyone else has any ideas, thanks.

Fluids are fine and I've had the break light problem for a year and no luck getting it to go away. ABS recently started popping on, on the cold/rainy days it drives fine and works. I would check the codes for the ABS but I think it may have something to do with the wiring. It's also not the e-brake I'm pretty sure because I adjusted it well. I've read through the forums and there's similar problems but mine seems different.

I assume the light your talking about is the one that looks like this: BRAKE , correct?

Because there is also the brake light indicator right underneath the door open / trunk open indicators, that tells you when you have a brake bulb out.

I'll assume your talking about the BRAKE light on the dash. That light should normally only turn on if your low on brake fluid, or if your E-brake is engaged. Im not really sure why it only happens when its raining out (that would make me want to lean more towards a loose or corroded connection or something). Anyway, so if its on all the time (and your fluid resivoir is full as you state) then its possible that the brake fluid level switch is stuck, the E-brake switch is stuck, or you have a wiring issue somewhere, such as the E-brake cable loose and grounding itself.

I would pop the lid of your brake resivoir and check to see if the little round float attached to the cap is moving freely and that it floats on top of the brake fluid when the cap is on the resivoir.

You said your E-brake functions normally, but the its possible the switch may not be. In order for that BRAKE indicator to come on in the dash when the E-brake is pulled, the E-brake switch simply grounds out to the frame of the car and illuminates the bulb (the bulb I believe always has power applied to it, it should be a ground switched bulb). So, maybe that switch is stuck in the grounded position, or the wire is loose and sitting on a ground. I would take off the center console and take a look at that.

That outta get you a little closer to finding out why that light stays on. As for the ABS light coming on intermittently im not sure on that one... - maybe a loose sensor, or a damaged tone ring?
    Well good luck!

Odd, mine used to only come on when it was damp, so I figured a bad connection or worn bulb base, however, now it goes off when I disengage the parking brake, but the first time I hit the brakes it comes on and stays on until I shut the car off again. I'll have to check my master cylinder this morning.

Mine does this but its because i'm running aftermarket rear lights.

Yea it's the brake like telling you that a bulb is out and I've checked them all and they are all working just fine. I have replaced some of the bulb sockets and cleaned them out as well but it comes back sometimes when It gets wet out. I've replaced the master cylinder recently (due to the common problem we have) to but I think I was having the same problems before. Fluid levels are fine the e-brake works fine as in you pull the cable light comes on, put the cable down light goes off everytime the exact same spot and it's also not that like.

As for the ABS light it wasn't on today but recently the front pad warning indicator started making noise but I really haven't heard ABS also getting triggered by that. I guess I'll try checking the codes when it goes back on and I assume its the same as checking our engine codes?

hi there is a box mounted on your tail light inside the trunk on the right and the left ..when i changed my tail lights i moved the wires going to the box [the light] came on then off ..i would clean the plug and put dielectric grease on it ..or one of the boxes might be bad ..

Yea mine was bad before so I went to the junk yard when I picked up another tail light because mine was leaking water into it before like crazy.. I also picked up the best looking one of those I could find. I'll get another crack at it and clean it up.

for the taillight problem, i'd suspect this sensor:

for the abs problem, i would begin by inspecting the rubber seals for the reservoir caps. later.

/\/\ yes it might be one of those, just remember if you change one you gotta change both. 1 on each side, and they both have to come from the same car.

Now that I didn't check or replace, thanks I'll look at that when I get home, I just changed the wire harness connecting to that sensor. As for the ABS res, would I just check the cap itself and maybe replace it if the seal looks bad?

                    Thanks for your help guys.
