My father just borrowed my Accord for a 400-mile drive. About 200 miles in, he calls and informs me that:
"The speedometer dropped from 80 to 0, and within a minute resumed operation."
After this happened three more times, the speedometer resumed normal function. The tachometer, fuel gauge, etc, were all completely functional. Only the speedo and odometer were having problems. Can anyone tell me what this problem could be? The first thing that comes to mind is the VSS, but I have no personal experience with this.
#2:
About 300 miles into the trip, my father found that the left-rear window would not raise back up. He ended up stopping to manually push the window back into the closed position.
This is the first time in 20 years that this car suddenly started showing problems, which is why I'm especially concerned. I recently drove it on a hard 1200-mile drive with absolutely no issues.
Thanks in advance, everyone. If more details about the problems are required for better diagnosis, let me know and I'll call my father for extra information (since I wasn't there at the time of said problems).
