    Abnormal Fuel Consumption

Hey Guys, So i gotta new problem, just before and after i replaced the valve cover and spark plug seals, I've been burning a lot of gas, and i'm not sure why, is it because of the weather change or, the thicker oil that i used.
    thanks in advance

What oil did you change to? You should be using 5W30.

it depends also how many miles does the motor have, plus in my opinion oil wouldnt make you waste more gas, did you do a complete tune up? like spark plugs, you should try changing the fuel filter and old fuel filter can make you waste more gas.

Hard to believe that a dirty or plugged fuel filter can cause this but it does. Do you have a cel?

she is down....but definately not out

I've done almost a full tune-up, i've still havent changed the filter yet, but i have changed the plugs, because they were covered with oil

So you have a vacuum leak then. Fix all vacuum leaks, your engine is sucking in more air and probably has high idle RPMs eh? Your engine idle fully warmed up should be at about 750 RPMs. You probably are wasting more gas in idle, etc

Fully warm idle is between 600-750 rpm, i've actually notice that the gas needle drops during warm up, when my idle is about 1500-1850 rpm. i've already clean my iac and fitv

Did you replace both the upper and lower spark plug tube seals? If you did the lower seals, did you just unbolt the rocker assembly and reinstall it without backing off the valve adjusters and then adjusting the valves when you put it back together?

yea I did, n yea i just unbolted without backing off the valve adjuster, n it was cold out so i didn't get a chance it adjust the valves. I'm guesting that's the reason its running so heavy.
