When was the last time the fuel filter was changed? Does it bog down at all?

Sounds like you have a decently savvy mechanic. I think you are the 2nd person to ever have a code 43 that was related to the FPR.
so that means i need a new reg correct? can i get one from a junk yard?

no bogging at all. just the idle issue. when i got home a popped the hood i could smell gas but i think that is from the pressure check. fuel filter was changed about 6 months ago

Code43 can be anything from spark plugs to fuel pump.

Yes you can get one at the JY. And I would be getting on the o2 as well, sounds like you have a couple issues going on at once. I know you're strapped for cash but I would buy this and run it thru your fuel system, I use it a lot in my cars. You can get it at almost any parts store, and it's around $8.

Marvel, B12 Chemtool, and Seafoam will all clean injectors and combustion chambers when used in the fuel. Decent, but not absolutely necessary. It won't fix anything that's already damaged.

she runs like a top other than that idle issue which like i said above. the mechanic thinks it has to do with the coolant leak at the IACV. Now im getting code 1 as well but i have no "bogging" like people are talking about.

I was suggesting it to try and clean out his pump, sounds like it is having some issues. We all know it's probably going to need changing here soon, just suggesting a band-aid because of his situation.

It's possible that the pump is just noisy. It doesn't ALWAYS mean imminent failure.

is the pump the problem? it was putting out over spec on the pressure test. I plan to replace it when i get back from this trip.

Most likely true, I guess I've always had quiet pumps in all my cars.

No, your FPR was causing those readings, the FPR is the return line, not the feed line.
