Will a front upper strut bar help prevent windshield stress cracks?

I had a new windshield put in Ruby when I redid her. Now I have a crack that started at the base of the windshield that is moving slowly up. Will a front upper strut bar help reduce flexing of the body and slow the growth of the crack? If I replace the windshield, will a bar help prevent cracks?

interesting question.. like a 4 piece one... less body roll. Less pressure on the window. Have you looked this question up online or just asking here?

It shouldn't have cracked in the first place, Something else is wrong if your sure it was a body stress crack.
Did you fit the windscreen on a perfectly level surface?

I did some searching on here and on line; I didn't find any comments directly linking strut bars to helping prevent cracks. It does seem like there would need to be angled bracing to stiffen the firewall.

The windshield was professionally installed on a level surface. There was some rust damage to the lower mounting surface mostly on the passenger side that was repaired with patches installed with body adhesive. There was also some rust damage at the bottom of the strut tower on the right side that was repaired (welded patch) at the time of the paint job.

There does appear to be nick in the windshield about 1/2 inch above the bottom edge uder the driver wiper arm; I'm not sure how something could have impacted there. So it may not be strictly a stress crack. Keep in mind it has 318,000 miles, so the body may be a bit tired.

I suppose the strut bar couldn't hurt any (and it would look cool - lol).
