    OBX Short Shifter Adapter

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with it. I did a search and it came up with like 4 members rides threads and one short shifter thread talkin about the PSPec tuning one. Any input would be appreciated. Thanx.

all the adapters are about the same...

the OBX is probably a neuspeed copy...

I know of at least 2 other threads talking about the 90-93 OBX adapter...

well i hope the OBX one is a copy of the neuspeed then, since you havent had any trouble with it.

don't waste your money on the obx short shift adapter.. IMO it sucks.. it seems like it shortened 1st 3rd and 5th gear by alittle, but it did nothing for 2nd and 4th.. shift length is still incredibly long and only alittle shorter than stock.. going into 5th or reverse it hits the shift boot adaptor plate.. and lastly installation fitment was alittle off so it took some effort to get it on..

if i would do it again i would recommend doing the DYI short shift adapter first, and then later get a better short shifter

Do you notice any binds or kinks or any clearance issues?

If you mount the shifter under the baseplate instead of on top of the base plate like it is stop, you'll have no clearance issues. You lower the shifter about 1" and it makes the shifters smoother.

I have a Neuspeed adapter I bought used for $35, and its absolutely a great mod for the money. Plus unlike a DIY, you can't really screw it up or break it, as the short shifter adapater is quite a stout piece.
