Your car is awsome!! but i have a question reguarding your HID's....I Know you used a Lexus GS400 Ballast with philips D2R bulbs and Casper shield. But my question is could i get a rebased bulb to put them in the USDM housing?? and did you get the Casper shields off the GS400 or....?

to answer your question, yes you can get D2r/D4r rebased in 9006. My hid kit was going to include rebased 9006 newer generation phlip bulbs(d4Rs) but the seller took them out.Originally posted by Todds91 View Post
Casper shields were made for h4 housings to use hid bulbs like the d2r and d4rs. You can find them on ebay as h4 hid shields, but I'm unsure if they fit 9006 housings.
I'm running 3rd gen denso ballast and philip d4r bulbs from the newer 07 lexus. Got the idea from Timmy here :]

as for the HID, no you cannot run the H4 casper shields on USDM housings. you really don't need to since the lense is designed for 9006. in H4 lenses the shields block the high beam portion of the lense so you don't glare or blind on-coming traffic, and you get a clean beam pattern.
and yes you can run rebased 9006 bulbs for a retrofit. i just like the look AND output of the JDM lights.Comment
