Spring West Coast CB Road Trip!

Spring West Coast CB Road Trip!

Ladies and Gentlemen, who is ready for a West Coast road trip?
Let's get together this Spring with other fellow CB enthusiasts and cruise down the California coastline, stopping along the way at some spectacular meet/dine/photo spots!

Here is the official road trip path on Google Maps, download for your reference: http://tinyurl.com/mhzhjzv

    The Plan:

The Initial Meet Spot: Vista Point on the Sausalito side of the Golden Gate Bridge
Time of arrival: 6am - Time of departure: 6:30am

Road trip PHASE I: Cross the golden gate bridge and exit onto Hwy. 1 through the Presidio, then stay on the highway as it heads through Golden Gate Park, 19th Avenue, and joins with 280. We then exit 280 to stay on highway 1 and cruise down the beautiful California coast into Santa Cruz!

Meet and Eat I (approximately 9:30am): Moss Landing at Phil's Fish Market! This place has won Best of Monterey County for 10 out of the last 12 years! It's a real fun place right on the beach, and there are plenty of spots nearby to park for pictures!

Optional Short Detour: Moss Landing Pick n' Pull has over 20 CB's, almost 20 CD's, and plenty of 2nd gen Legends too! Their prices are negotiable and there are lots of great OEM parts left on these cars. The pick n pull is 2 minutes away, and you can even see it in the picture above, to the top right.

Road Trip PASE II (depart before 10:30am): Leave Moss Landing (bathrooms used, please!) and head down the breathtaking central coast on Highway 1 through Monterey, Carmel, and Big Sur!

Optional Stopping Points: The view at Bixby Bridge, Ventana Inn and Spa (bathrooms), and McWay Falls (bathrooms)

Meet and Eat II (approximately 3:30pm): Meet at Morro Bay State Park (that big parking lot right on the water by Morro Rock!) for some awesome pictures! Then, we head down the road to San Luis Obispo and hit up the Firestone Grille!

Road Trip PHASE III (Approximately 5:30pm): We head into the sunset Out of San Luis Obispo onto 101, then split onto Hwy 1 at Pismo Beach. We continue on Highway 1 down the coast and into the night as we head toward out final meet!

Optional Stopping Point: El Capitan State Beach (bathrooms and picture spot)

Meet and Eat III (Approximately 8:30pm): Meet in the big Santa Monica Pier parking lot, take pictures, and have some fun with friends on the Pier!

Recommended: Those heading back up north stay in a hotel in Santa Monica or nearby to get a good night’s rest .

The trip date has been decided: Saturday, April 11th

Interested in joining us on this road trip, or part of this road trip, and making it that much better of an experience? Let us know right here in this thread, and please tell us your preferred date!

I was honestly hoping you'd be down for it, man. You love the Cali coast it seems, and for good reason! BTW, is the only date you are available, or is it just your preferred date?

It's a little too early for me to confirm. Work is going to be really demanding around those dates, but I'll try to make it.

Man, that would be so cool if you could come, tishock! Is your work situation one in which you could ask for a day off this far in advance?

Dang! Gotta replace those broken picture links.

I work for a couple of small law firms (I wear a lot of hats) and one has a trial starting on March 19th. Unfortunately the way our courts are backlogged we have to prepare for that date but know that it maybe pushed back a few days, weeks or even months. So I won't really know until March 19th. Taking time off after the trial wont be an issue.

Oh, cool. Thanks for the info. I hope that either the trial starts on March 19th and lasts for two days, or it gets postponed for a month

Oh, sweet! I was hoping to spread the word to you, Carlos, and Omar, since you guys know a lot of people and have done this before, but I didn't want to be a pest.

I really hope you can pass through reffing, man. Can you get your hands on an Accord or Prelude airbox and an H22 OEM IM? I have an EGR that I could give you from my H23 manifold if you need that too, it just doesn't have the sensor on top. Do you have the emissions control box hooked up?
