Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

    Project Acclipse underway!!

so i finally started today on the much awaited turbo adventure... lol i can see right now that it will take a bit longer than i expected. took me 3 hours just to get the damn exhaust off!!! i had planned on doing it it 2 days but i think i need more like a week. ANYWAYS i ran into a few things today that im not too clear on:

    1) has anyone here ran 2.5 inch charge pipes down the drivers side of the engine bay and out to the IC without taking out the air cond.???? it just seems damn near impossible from looking at the amount of space in there.

    2) so im ok with taking out the A/C but when you get rid of that pump don't you need a smaller belt to run the alternator then? does somone have this belt # and size?

    3) there are 2 "ports" for lack of a better word that go from our f22 valve cover to the intake manifold. I know one is the PCV and the other looks like its a vaccume hooked up to the intake pipes (its the one on the top left corner of the valve cover) anyways since im not overly keen on preasurising the valve cover when im under boost can i just put a breather on the pcv AND one on the other vaccume port?? and for the intake manifold side just hook the 2 empty holes together with a peice of hose? would that work or does anyone have PICTURES that they can post of their setup?

ill try and get some pics of what i mean asap.

cool man, im starting the same thing, i would also like to know what u do with that piece that comes off the valve cover.. do u replace it with one of those breather things? or what.. lol that wasnt coverd in the diy instructions r33 made

The non-pvc tube coming off of the valve cover is simply a breather. Yes you can put a breather filter on it and it will be just fine.
The OFFICIAL how to add me to your ignore list thread!

here is how to route your PCV system with boost..

hose from PCV valve (holllow the vavle out, you dont want a 1 way valve), to a catch can. Then a hose from the catch can to a pre-turbo source (aka turbo inlet, or intake pipe. NOT CHARGE PIPES). Then you want to plug the hole on the intake manifold where the PCV used to go.

        crappy Diagram

        [PCV Valve]------->[Catch can]-------->[Turbo inlet pipe]

ill try and add this info to the instructions. ill make a diagram too, it seems to be a common question.
put a breather filter on the other one..

^You could get a belt for an AC'less DX, I'm pretty sure a few DX's came w/o AC. I'm not sure where AC came standard in which trim, probably LX.

cool thanks everyone, i just picked up the belt from Partsource... they had one left!!!

and R33, can I elinimate the catch can all together? seems to me like the head would not be effected by just having 2 breathers on it. or is it important to have that onle line going to a PRE turbo vaccume nipple?

you could just put a breather on it...but you could also leave it stock (not recomended). but for the most efficieny having the vaccum connected to it helps a lot. I made my catch can for like $25 from home depot parts, definitly worth it

My grinder made short work of the motor mount bolt hole.

After much hard work and thinking I finally wedged that massive CCA intercooler in place and made a few cuts on the bumper.

i figured that I could fit that IC in by cutting out the structural material on the bumper. now thats sacrificing functionality for preformance!!
