ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

        Do it right by welding a metal patch.

          Because of winter, I just used a plug for now and some Mr. Gasket because the old antenna leaked water into trunk. Come springtime I'm gonna try my hand at welding. Biggest concern is setting the entire car on fire
          Being normal is probably the lamest thing you can try to be

            I suppose it's whether you are planning on sealing it via bodywork/paint or just want a temporary fix.

            There's a circular rubber drain plug in the trunk that you can remove and it perfectly fits/covers the antenna hole.

              you won't set the car on fire. Just make sure to remove the trunk carpet and driver side trunk lining. Make sure to cover your rear window so that sparks from welding don't hit it and put pits in the glass.

                erm this is gonna probably suprise u. but the solution itself is located on the actual car. u are just merely reusing cb parts to fix this problem. it will be either a few bucks or free depending on how u get a hold of this plug. go to the junkyard and look inside the trunk of a cb. remove the plug out the bottom of the trunk. and pop it into your antenna hole.
                u can either reuse the gasket at the base like i did for extra assurance, plus it looks cleaner. or just put the plug itself into the hole.

                located in the floorboard of the trunk

                in it's new home

                notice the gasket at the bottom of the plug. the plug fits neatly inside the gasket for a hellaflush look

                      Notice how one word in your post was turned into asterisks?

                      We don't condone use of that word on this forum. Consider this your warning. We normally ban for use of that word.

                        This is really helpful i was looking for a temporary solution to my no antennae problem but the best I could come up with was black electric tape.
                        does the job but looks as ghetto as Whitney on crack. I think the plug will look a little better while i wait for a paint job.

                          antenna = singular
                          antennae = plural.

                            Did anyone who deleted their antenna still use the radio? If so how is the reception without the antenna. I was thinking about deleting mine and then installing one of the small fin/flush antenna's found on newer year luxury cars.
