ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

Read them. You will be expected to follow them.

As tommi said the bolt holes are slightly larger than the bolts going through them. This is to allow for adjustments to fix gaps like you have.

Is it lined up like that just before hitting the latch? Or only after the latch catches? The latch in the trunk lid is adjustable. If it is not the latch, and the hinge bolts won't allow it to move, you can CAREFULLY push the trunk lid in the desired direction when open to "adjust" the hinge beams.

Adjust the latch. Move it to what ever side and tighten it trust me
The latch will pull it where it needs to go.

I put a new trunk on my EJ Civic and had the same problem. You will have to do as the others have said, adjust the latch and/or the screws on the arms. Doing a combination of these will get it square.

Not what I expected to see when I read 'truck swap'

How jacked up was that trunk lid before? It looks like a lot of body filler on it, you might have to tweak the hinge bars as fleetw00d said.

There's not much room to play with side to side adjustment on the trunk bolts.

90% of the trunk alignment is with the latch.

I think I did my most recent trunk swap in about 20-30 minutes and it lined up and latched the first try.

Are you sanding all that bondo by hand? You need to get a basic $30 sander.

An auto body shop made the holes a little bigger on the hinge beams on my dad's 90 accord trunk to make it fit better. It wasn't the original trunk either.

that gap is as ugly as a wheel gap.
