ANY BUYING/SELLING IN THIS FORUM WILL RESULT IN AN INSTANT BAN!

Read the rules: http://www.cb7tuner.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=43956

Myself, and the other mods have been very nice and lenient with the rules. We have been deleting threads, and giving out warnings. Some members didn't get the clue and re-posted over and over... Now ANY member buying or selling in this section will be banned... No IF's AND's or BUT's.

Beginner Forum Rules - EVERYBODY read! (old and new members alike!)

Beginners start here. Once you have 30 worthwhile posts (off topic doesn't count) you may post outside of the Beginner forums. Any "whoring" (posting simply to raise your post count) will return your count to 0, or result in a ban.

These are the rules. Read them. Live by them.

1) Absolutely NO flaming! "Flaming" is an outright attack on a member. ALL questions are encouraged to be asked here, no matter how basic. Members with over 30 posts will be subject to a ONE WEEK ban if caught flaming in this forum (and yes, moderators can read deleted posts). Members with under 30 posts will be subject to a ONE DAY ban.

2) Use appropriate language. Racial or sexual slurs will not be tolerated. A ban will be issued at the discretion of the cb7tuner.com staff.

3) No items may be sold in the Beginner forums. Any "for sale" threads will be deleted.

4) Temporarily banned members will be PERMANTLY banned if they are found posting on another account.

The rules can and will be added to. Any updates will be marked in the title.

The rules for the overall forum can be found here:

I'm going to be as clear and coherent as I can, in hopes that you can understand.

At first I thought he was buying cast generic wheels that ARE NOT light weight in a 15 inch radius. I stated that buying a 15 inch aftermarket wheel (thinking it was the generic cast type) to be pointless or unacceptable. Clearly some douche bag decided to say it was stupid to say what is and is not "acceptable".

Fine its cool, so I let that go cause I didn't make my self clear AND THEN I saw the OP post that he wanted 17x7's. Which I think is better if you are going for looks and not competition. So I let it go.

I then suggested that maybe he'd hold on a bit before jumping on to a set of 4x114.3, especially a set of 15 inchers with a 4x114.3 bolt pattern. I also suggested the 15x8 helium by konig, at least thats an affordable and competitive wheel. That is when you decided to patrol the thread with your iron fist.

I let that go again. I posted some helpful information, so he could compare say a 205/40r17 to a 195/50r15 in price. Which isn't that huge of a jump.

Then you TRIED to shit on me again. However; I took the time out to write you this lengthy letter please read it.

Now to comment on your post about a $130 wheel vs a $200+ that is very incorrect a larger rim (example 15 vs 17 ) is usually only about $30-40 more. Do a little comparative shopping bro bro.
I still do not see your point. I see you opinion, but not an actual point.

If you think 15" wheels look dumb then don't get them, but don't go around saying it's pointless to buy them.
IMO 15"s look better than 17"s on most CB's. Am I going to start telling people any wheel over 15" is unacceptable? No, because that would be stupid.

And again with the dead bolt pattern, it's not happening. So many cars were available in this bolt pattern and wheel companies know that not everyone 5 lug swaps there cars.
They would be hurting themselves too much by not offering 4x114.

We need to get back on topic before this gets locked.
OP, I like the wheels and like everyone has said if you aren't doing nything crazy then they'll be fine.

Ok. Sorry to the OP. Get the rims. I plan to get a set. Haha. If I get them before you do ill ill post pics. I love he look of them. Some have the same looks as other rims of similar designs that I like. Like the ones you posted. They're at a good price for a set. I might just have me set in August if I can find them again. Lol.

Thanks for finding them. I say you get the ones you posted and ill get another set

From what I know. There's only a few places in the world that cast wheels. So more than likely you knock off wheels come out the same place your name brand wheels do. The wheels the op has pictured look to me like what we call "house wheels". The company makes thousands of them, then a wheel company buys a large number of them, cuts the back spacing and drills the holes and brands them. That's why the wheel seat and the lug seats are raw metal on most wheels. That's why so many of you lower end brands have the same wheel. Wheel companies don't make the vast wheels, they buy them from a foundry over seas. The big names, design the wheels, but they are still produced over seas. Oasis is the only wheel company I can think of that cast wheels in the USA. Iam only talking about cast wheels, not forged or billet wheels

And from personal experience of selling wheels for a living, there had been a sudden uprise in demand for 4x100/4x4.5 wheels It seems a lot of that has to do with the 90s accords being in that $5k and under 1st car bracket, and a lot of them were bought when gas prices shot throug the roof. People who could afford to buy gas savers like them, and are fixing them up a bit

Holy crap, I should have put on my fire-proof underwear before asking such a crazy question, lol!

The eventual plan IS to go 5-lug, hence why I'm cheaping out on wheels for my 4-lug hubs. It just won't be for a while and I really want to improve the look of my car now. I'll wait until then to buy some quality wheels I can beat on at the circuits.

Most aftermarket wheels come with a 'standard' offset of 40-45, and those are just shy of being flush with the fenders. I like a flush look. Not the "stanced" kind of flush, but... like when people put fender flares and low-offset wheels on to widen their car's track to improve handling - without crossing into "poke" territory. I just think that makes the car look so 'tough,' if you know what I mean. So I figure a few more millimeters out from the CBs I've seen with 42mm offsets will put the wheels exactly where I want them to accomplish that look.

I found them on eBay, actually. Search "17 4x114.3" and they'll pop up, among others. $444 for the set! I didn't put a whole lot of effort into looking around, since I like the black, but I do remember seeing a silver set.

Thanks for all the input guys, much appreciated . It sounds like a safe enough risk, so I think I'll go ahead and order them when I get paid Thursday!
