He makes off topic threads in the off topic sections, and apparently that irritates people. Therefore, those people flame him in all his threads, and make threads like this to try to make him leave...

It's funny... I'd rather have a member posting one too many "stupid" threads than a forum full of people that are too willing to show disrespect to this community and its rules, and too immature to just ignore someone they don't like (when the software actually offers that option, so they don't even consciously have to do it!)

Im not afraid to air my issues.

I don't want the guy to leave, he's made some DIY and wants to contribute.

I just think the # of threads could come down some....especially the threads asking for help on items that could easily be searched and answered....he ignores one of the basic rules and no one says anything.

Also his recklessness and disregard for advice and other people.

Other then that, hes not my kid so i don't have to deal with him.

But yea, making a thread like this is not the answer.

Well he seems to have an interest in learning more about cars so he can do his own repairs etc. I can respect that. He also works to modify and make the best out of his CB. I can respect that too.

But I can see why people are bothered. It seems he enjoys making people uncomfortable and creating conflict. Take the why american cars suck thread for example. Facts or no facts, a thread like that is only going to bother people. So why create it unless you enjoy stuff like that? And when people flame him he simply gives odd responses purely for shock value. Again take the A=I situation for example. He said he wanted to follow in his footsteps (shock value) until he actually read a thread that A=I participated in. I have seen a hundred kids just like him so none of this is really surprising to me. But eh he doesn't quite get on my nerves enough to ignore him. Plus I think it would be weird if he responded in a thread and other people talked about his post. I could see that getting very confusing for myself lol. But for the people that he seems to really anger, I don't understand why they don't just utilize the ignore feature as deevergote mentioned

I could also see how this response might be considered flaming and I understand that, mods respond how you see fit. But I think Geoff can handle a little sort-of constructive criticism. That is all I have to say, Goodnight.

I figured someone would say something like that. I guess I wrote that so whoever read my comment would know that I put some thought into what I wrote before I posted it. If I expect people to take what I wrote into consideration, I better damn well have considered it myself before I hit the submit button. From reading your comment you seem to like to post the first thing that comes to mind. Thanks for calling me a pussy by the way, much appreciated I also don't see anywhere in my comment where I told any of the mods how to do their jobs. And contrary to popular belief I am not deathly afraid of being banned. I got time out in elementary school and I am still breathing.

Hell, I don't even mind the guy that much. His 'American cars suck thread' I thought was pretty inflammatory and his opinion that Germans are superior was dancing along the lines of good taste and poor judgement, but I had my say and put it behind me.
He and I have exchanged comments on a couple of other topics, and he's not a bad guy, just young, opinionated, and he likes to create stimulating conversation. That's the longest OT thread we've had since the lounge got closed down, I think.

Like I said he wants to be opinionated but at times he just doesnt make sense.
