Color looks good... How did you get rid of the rust? Looks like you just screened and bondo'd over it...

i cut out some more of it and put the screens behind the metal not in front of it. then i just applied bondo. i just cut the metal till thier was no rust behind thier.

I hope you treated all the area you cut out with anti-rusting treatments and also treated the inner fenders, or it'll be back.

paint looks good, pretty even laydown from what i can see, couple questions :

did you feather the edges really good of your bondo? Also, think about using a glaze as a last layer over the bondo, instead of painting directly on top of filler. Spraying over filler causes "paint soak" and you will see where your body work is and a final layer of glaze will fill in any tiny pinholes that filler might leave.

curious as to why you painted your hood only without painting fenders? also, hope you didnt spray the hood on the car, as you still have alot of sanding dirt left on your car from what i can see. Buy a tack cloth it will save you trashy paint nightmares. Also, did you primer? It looks like from the drop sheets you painted the hood where it sits, hope you didnt clear it yet, and youre gonna run into problems when you go to spray the rest of the car, either primer or blue, painting body pieces individually is ok as long as you take them off and hang/ sit them somewhere. Be careful when shooting the rest of the car so you dont overspray onto your already finished hood (if your laying primer might wanna take the hood off completely). And take out your headlights, tailights, corners, grill etc.... makes life alot easier. AND TAPE UP YOUR WINDOWS!!!!!

thanks dude. i did the hood as a test because ive never painted a car before, those picse are random i wet sanded the car down and im going to resand the hood again i cleared the hood already and obviously matching is going to be hard so thats why, right now im installing a resonator that i found at the junk yard today.

                pretty good find eh?

i got it for 10 bucks i just found it sitting thier so we'll see how it sounds

'93accordse, when you say glaze you mean clear coat right. i should just spray a layer of clear over the bondo??

and yeah i didnt prime the car either i just wet sanded it real flat...

no, i mean like using this:

and i would definitely recommend primer on the car, especially since you had rust issues. I would take the car down a little more, maybe use 220 grit on the whole thing before wetsanding, this would also let you really feather the edges of your body work.

                        youre doing too much

you can sand it down, but not to metal. first of all, youre never gonna get the whole thing down to metal unless you just blast the whole car. I sand, prime, wetsand, base and clear MAX 2 coats. The theory that more clear = more shine is just wrong. Because youll end up wetsanding the clear between passes, so in the end the only coat that matters is the topcoat. Now youre gonna have three layers of clear UNDER your top layer doing nothing but turning yellow in the sun. Make sense? The people who say MORE CLEAR arent good enough to spray clear. Clear is hard, thats why i just put a piss coat on first to get the whole car tacky, then lay my final coat. Real professionals can get it in one pass most of the time. After you clear buff and polish your car like a month later. thats where your shine comes from. A good sprayer is only worried about orange peel and runs.
