Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

well, I changed the dsitributor out, and it turns out that's not the problem. my mechanic doesn't know what it is, but the engine isn't sparking

well, it's either three things, and once I replace them, if the car still isn't working, you gonna see it for sale. I'm getting hassled by my parents about it, and I need a car. But here's the deal. Power get's to the distributor, but from there it's not sparking. So it's either the distributor(replaced that today), the distributor cap/rotor, or spark plugs wires. I'm gonna replace the cap and wires tomorrow, and if that doesn't work, a h23 dizzy, and if that doesn't work, I won't have the money to swap engines so I'll sell my turbo kit, f22b head, f22b block, and part the car out. I hate to be pessimistic, and I don't want to sell this car, but I really don't have a choice.

Stupid as this sounds, buy a beater, got my 85 escort for 100bucks, put a dizzy in it and pads up front and wham I got a $140 daily beater! Great on gas! Now I can turbo as I feel!

As for the internal - external coil, Honda Tuning mag had a write up and its not that hard, you need an external coil and a few other things but its way cheaper than buying a new cap with ext. built in!

well turns out it was a shorted alternator wire. Car is fixed. Now I have some more somewhat bad news. I blew a charge pipe today.... and the pipe got ran over. SO no turbo until I get anothe pipe and t bolt clamps. At least this gives me time to get my wideband on.

not anymore. If your converting to external probably go with the h23.

I swear, I can't have my car running normal for more then 10 MINUTES! Last night we fixed the charge pipe, welded it on, replaced the exhaust manifold gasket. I was driving to a friends house, hit 8 psi at 4k-5k, shifted and put it in nuetral to coast, and it began to surge from 1k-3k. Now whenever I idle or put in nuetral it surges. WTF!. So this morning I went and checked all vacuum lines, looked at the egr a little, and I can't figure it out. It's not the ecu, I burned three different maps and all idles are the same. I kinda think its the MAP sensor, but it runs fine except for idle, so I don't think it's that. Anyone else experience this?

haven't touched it. But it only started idling wierd after I wound the engine out that one time. but the FICV doesn't involve the engine surging, does it
