    Speedo reading 12kph off

I came to the realization that my cars speedo is off by 12kph. So when my speedo is reading 90kph my speed is actually 102 kph. How can I fix this?

Do you have larger than stock wheels? I'm used to mph but as you size up it changes I think it would read lower because yah.

195/60-R15 tires, if your not on the 14" steelies.

My guess is you have the wrong tire size on the car.

CB7 or CB9? USDM coupes/sedans have a 130 mph speedo, CB9 140 mph. From experience, my 140 mph speedo didn't work correctly when I had to replace the printed circuit board in the gage cluster (used one from a sedan). I don't remember whether it read high or low, but is was off by about the range you are experiencing. I had to install the 130 mph speedo from the sedan to get it to read close. Has the cluster been changed in your car?

Has it always been off? Any work on the cluster? Have you ever changed the VSS? A little more background info might help.

I bought the car a year ago. I never noticed it, but I started to wonder why everybody was driving below the speed limit. Come to find out I was going faster than I should be. Never did anything to the car but put on new tires and brakes. The tires are the right ones for the car.
