ABS light comes on when driving on the highway

Did a search and not finding anything, so I'll post up.

    1992 honda accord EXR (canadian)

It started when i was on the highway weeks ago, going about 135km/h and going over a bridge which was bumpy (the seams of the bridge). On the last bump the car hit it and settled back down on the springs but at the same time the ABS light came on.

Now when i go on the highway without hitting bumps the ABS light comes on. Happens when going over 120km/h, but not at slow speeds. When i turn the car off the light goes away, turn car on, light is off. Can drive around town for days and no light. But when I get on the highway and go above 120km/h (there is no set speed but it tends to happen above 100km/h-ish) it comes on.

    - Tried unplugging the connectors and plugging back in (3 orange connectors under the hood). I think that's all the connectors.
    - Brake and ABS resevoirs are full.
    - No leaks, brakes work great, was serviced few months ago.
    - ABS does work, i can feel it kicking in when tested.

I think the ABS wires from the front go from the wheel all the way to the engine bay. The fronts have a orange connector on the left and right of the engine bay and the backs connect to the large orange connector near the ABS resevoir. So I unnplugged these, visually checked these connections, plugged them back in.

Any other ideas I can try?

It's your wheel sensors. Either they are loose, dirty, or bad connection.

I cleaned both front sensors, but not the rears yet. I'll tackle them next.

Why not just pull the codes instead of guessing random stuff.

no CEL light, no codes. or you mean pull them after the light comes on?

Try to pull it, the codes should be stored

But if not then yes pull it after the light comes on

^ the ABS light blinks in codes like the CEL does. You check it the same way as a CEL.

On some ABS equipped cars the light blinks on the module not on the dash. The module should be buried in the trunk on the passenger side.

So let the ABS light come on. Then turn car off, install jumper, and turn key to CEL position? If that is what you mean I can try. I always thought no code would be present if no CEL light ever came on.

                  No lights blinking anywhere.

Alright, finally got around to tackling this.

                    - Removed all 4 ABS sensors, cleaned them and put back on.
                    - Double checked all connectors under the hood for ABS wires.
                    - Checked for CEL codes, there were none.

Still have the issue. Forgot to check the trunk for the ABS connector to short out, will check that this week.

As mentioned prior. This issue started on the highway while going over a bridge. There were 3 bumps on the bridge and as I hit them, 1..., 2, ... 3 (ABS light came on after hitting the 3rd bump as the car settled).

Now it comes on when doing 120km/h or more. But only when you get to a high speed, not low speeds. There is no set speed to trigger it, over 100km/h I'd say. Never comes on at low speeds.

I say check your tone rings.

Did you check them when you were down there?

They could possibly be damaged, chipped etc.

Check if the air gap is also to spec.

Ya, they're non existant The drivers side more than the passenger side. This my issue? Doesn't seem to match the problem starter.

                          Passenger side

                          Drivers side

The drivers side is far more worn. Another weird thing that's been happening lately (but I'm not sure if its related) is that in between shifts there is a noise from the drivers side axle area. It sounds like a.........axle catching up. Ya, this is hard to explain.

On the Power, clutch in to shift, and it sounds like a BOV or some bearing mechanism winding down. But no axle clicks, grinds, etc.

Would this low ring cause my problem?
Wouldn't the low ring cause it ABS light to come on at any speed?
                          Would cleaning it help?

Heck, today when getting on the highway and no-one was around I went to 150km/h and had no ABS light. It wasn't until I came back down to 110km/h that it came on. Other times it comes on at 100Km/h, there's no set speed.

                          Any help appreciated, thanks!

As said at the start of this thread -
                              Check the code.
