    ENG: Crank pulley tool

I tried ordering this tool last night and was told it was on back order for like 3 weeks. I need it yesterday if you know what i mean . so i decided to make it for my self. here is how i did it.you going to need a 1.5 x 1.25 black pipe hex bushing.

you can get it at your local ace hardware it is about $4. some 1in square tubing got mine at a scrap yard for $.20 and some 1/16 sheet mettle again scrap yard.
you need to file the corners of the pipe bushing round so that they will fit in the pulley

now cut a piece of sheet and cut a hole in the center ( do your self a favor a 1.5 in hole saw will work great for this )

make sure it is flush and weld it up.

now take your square stock and weld it on

do a little grinding and shaping and there you go.

this thing works great. i used it twice today and worked like a charm. in all i think it was $10 and about 30min of time.

If you don't have access to a welder, I suppose one could just drill a couple 1/2 inch holes through the fitting, then use a 1/2 inch diameter rod (1/2" drive extension?) through the holes. Thanks for the idea!

if you don't have a welder you can use a large pipe wrench. the fitting is only good for one use though it chews it up pretty good.

nice job man, i had to do the same thing for the motor mount bolts on my gixxer. when all else fails, just make it yourself.
