    A bump for progress

This is how far off the 95 prelude 5spd brake pedal is off

And this is how I fixed it

I got the wiring done the quick and dirty way for now just so I can have my car back. Clutch pedal has to be adjusted cause I basically have no pressure and it drops the the floor and you have to pull it back with your toe.

I finally got her...er....well.....him running today!

Car wouldn't shift into any gear other than first or third and couldn't figure out why. I had good clutch engagement, linkage wasn't binding, tried adjusting the selector on the shifter assembly, nothing i did seemed to work other than manual shifting the tranny by hand at the top of the tranny. Then I got the idea to pop off the selector housing and mess around in there. with the top off it seemed to go into gear fine (not from within the car of course). bolted it back down after messing with it for a minute and bam! car shifted fine.

Car seems to be running great besides the CEL #9 code from the p12, and the vacuum leak from the back of the intake manifold. Not sure what hooks up to the nipple cause it was far too hot after driving across down on top of the temperature outside. I will be back at it in the morning to eliminate that vacuum leak because driving around with my engine at a constant 2000rpm was annoying.

Nice work! Welcome to the 5spd club.
I think the open back vacuum nipple was for the automatics rear mount. It was vacuumed for vibrations.
Keep up the good work and im waiting to see more!

That's what I thought too but I have ran the auto rear mount in two years. I ended up just taking the CC line and looping it since I don't have the CC hooked up anyways. Thanks for the support man. It feels great having a 5spd again!

So after the tranny swap I was experiencing erratic idle issues of increasing intensity. I could not figure out why. I adjusted the idle and even with the screw completely down, I'd still have a high idle. So I thought it was possibly my IACV going out or as Paging told me possibly the FITV. I ruled those out thinking it was possibly my TB gasket as I had taken it off when trying to run the hard clutch line. Which I definitely did not after it broke the nipple off the charcoal canister. The SS line gives a great feel to the clutch even though I'm still having to get use to driving stick again. It's been 7 years since I lost my first car ('90 Pontiac sunbird with a 5spd) and got my first CB!

            Back to the story!

Yesterday morning (Friday) I heard the vacuum leak finally reach a truly audivle level. You could hear it inside the car. I had to drive it to work with it bogging and bouncing the idle from 1300-2500 constantly. If I wasn't accelerating it was bogging, stuttering, and jerking like a horse.

I work my shift and pull my car up front to my undisclosed auto store and hear it right over the injector next to the thermostat. Well, I spit right on the injector to see if it was the o-ring. Instead, it sucked it in through the too of the manifold gasket. Or, what should have been gasket. I take the manifold off to find this

Replaced the gaskets and manifold, started her...er...him (according to my gf since my car has a stick he's no longer a b*tch he's a d*ck) and he ran just fine. Still a slight idle issue but I also haven't readjusted my base idle.

            All in all,

I'm glad to have my car back thanks to my Girlfriend who financed a large part of the swap, my mom for letting me use her Ninja to finish school, Alex my illegitimate brother for helping with the majour lifting, Mark his pops for popping my axles in yet again, and this damn fine website for guiding me through the process.

                Thank you good sir!

I definitely underestimated what it took to finish. Good planning will do you a world of good. I'd recommend making sure you have all the parts you need before starting. I ended up making too many trips to the JY, the parts store, and other places like for the clutch line. This is a two man project unless you're the hulk. Don't be intimidated by the wiring like I was. Putting the spring on the brake pedal was honestly much harder than the wiring.

But good luck on finding that leak. Check your TB to make sure a carbon buildup is keeping it a bit open and that the base screw is set properly. And pull your vacuum lines to check for cracks.

Car has been running pretty well so far. Still an idle issue but not a leak issue. I believe it's a combination of my IACV & Thermo valve: need to set the base idle and tighten the spring back down when hot, respectively. On the plus side my buddy Paging (Ben) did a jy run and stumbled across a unicorn!

That is a CD accord with an H22A. But more than just the jdm swap, the entire block, head, intake, and tranny were all polished. He pulled the head and found a basically stock motor except for the polishing. He also found a chipped ecu which he gave to me as a get well present. I had yet another surgery making it number 7 in less than three years.

He also was awesome and gave me a polished block off plate for that useless air booster.

Finally got the lip installed thanks to the work of Paging (Ben). And I also fixed my broken ass antenna. I now get more than 5 stations! And it's nice and clear. Also polished up the rims with the free polishing kit I got from work. :-)

Better pictures to follow in the coming weeks!

Thanks to Paging I now am running a chipped p06 that has a map from his old f22. We tried to get the p12 to stop throwing a code 9 by moving the jumper to no avail. Upon closer inspection we noticed some burnt/rusted connections throughout the board. I owe him much thanks for getting my car back up to a consistent running condition.

On a side note, I also got my rear passenger window to work in proper fashion. The girlfriend and I went to the store for some medical supplies and medicines when the window decided it no longer wanted to roll up. So she ran in while I took the door panel off for closer inspection. I took the switch out and noticed it had a good click 'feel' down but a sloppy up. Took the driverside off to try that one and noticed that 1. the switch was unplugged and 2. that there was an extra switch just dangling on the wires inside the door.

So I took the switch to the otherside, plugged it in, and BAM! window works just fine. Not only does the door switch consistently work, but now my driver control also works with the same consistency!! Needless to say, I am very thankful and happy that I only have to replace the driverside front (for sure) and possibly the rear. I'm hoping that the rear motor is just disconnected cause I sure as hell hate doing regulators. I did it once in my old 90 LX and it was a beach to say the least.

Came upon a couple of good finds at the jy yesterday. Grabbed a 4dr legend lip (pics to come) that needs a good sand and some paint. Paging found a good one too that looked better so lots of pics to come. Also grabbed a couple sensors and some lights that someone had wired into the old auto connector harness.

                          And one more killer grab

Today begins the second tranny swap. I bought a bb6 last summer and destroyed the tranny about 6 weeks ago. So rather than just rather than just replacing that trans I decided to make the leap and get a t2t4 for the accord and take the m2f4 and replace the m2y4. Pics to come!

So let me start with a huge thanks to my friends, my girlfriend, and my mom for all helping to get this tranny swap done! When I first did the conversion it took a few weeks to finish between work and graduating with my BA in English. Thanks to this group, we had the m2f4 out and the t2t4 in the car and running in about 7 hours including breaking for lunch. While I do still need to have an alignment/adjust the passenger radius arm back, I can say there is a huge difference in how this car handles! I never quite realized how much it understeered before even with F&F1s (which have never had an issue other than a lower lock collar worked a bit loose after 10k +/- miles) and the energy suspension and spc camber kit. I only got to play a little bit with it but I can tell its going to be a lot of fun!

Now that i've had the t2t4 in for the last about 8 weeks, i gotta say i love it so much more than the m2f4 that is now in my bb6. The gearing is just about perfect for both the engine, weight, and the rest of the suspension. I can definitely feel the need for an upgrade to the sway bars, though, the car handles remarkably well with minimal body roll. Honestly, I loved the understeer that is normal to FWD and all the tire squealing madness that comes with it. But, now the car just grabs and turns where ever i point it. I gotta say though, i always crack a little smile turning a corner and hearing the tires chirp just for a second until the tires leave concrete for ashpalt.
