WELL, it looks as though I'm gonna need to do a Head Gasket on my car. So I took the opportunity to upgrade the gasket I need to replace anyway to a Bisimoto heat shielding IM gasket made outta that special material that makes the intake temps 50 degrees cooler. It was only 57 shipped so I figured it was worth a shot.

So far: Head Gasket = $75.46 @ majestic honda
    Bisimoto IM gasket = $57.33
ARP Head stud kit for H23A = $134...still hoping to find it cheaper though so not technically bought yet.

so wow, the money really adds up, not to mention I already spent $121 on a Honda Diagnosis at the dealer. Wow, I'm in 387.79 already.

but thanks to accordaffair for sending me the PDFs of the Helms manual for intall/removal of the cylinder head

Okay well I found a vendor that sells ARP stuff locally, RMS Distributing, and got a good deal on the H23 Head stud kit, got for 135, so pretty good price, the lowest I found on ebay was 134 and he was willing go 135 OTD.

well haha, not yet, still havn't gotten the head gasket. but I DID get this today....

I wish I could boost as well, now that the engine will be a little tougher w/ those ARP headstuds but then I've got the AUTOtragic trans to worry about.

lol yeah but thats precisely why you should boost it. the faster your auto goes out, the faster you can *fix* it with a LSD 5spd swap

I picked up a new intake yesterday from a salvage yard. There just happened to be a wrecked 2000 prelude there. WITH an H22, DC header and this intake. I only could afford the intake. But DAMN, what an intake it is. I found out its an Iceman Thermoplastic Dynamic Chamber Intake, which is larger at the mouth of the filter and gets smaller to force the air into the throttle body.
Plus its made of ABS thermal plastic which runs cooler and doesn't conduct heat. I'm stoked!

and to my amazement, it fit w/o having to mod anything in my engine bay!

^^cleared the battery just fine w/o even getting squished in the corner

                              Thermotec Header Wrap

Well, lately my engine bay temps have been WAYYY too hot, so I had to do something about it haha:

I present you....my newly wrapped header:

And here's the supplies I needed:

-two rolls of 15' by 2" wide exhaust insulating wrap (I only used about 19' of it though
-Snap Straps I bought a box of 12 but only 6 were needed
                              -measuring tape
-needle nose pliers to pull the tape through tight clearances
-scissors to cut it to size
-latex gloves (this stuff is like bare fiberglass so it'll irritate you skin if you don't wear these)
-pan of water to make tape more pliable
TOTAL COST..............50 bucks....you don't need the big pack of snap straps or THAT much tape though, so you could prob. get this done for 30 or so

Looks really good man. Wait for qualified feedback, but I think you should cut the extra straps. Too short to wrap around, too long to leave like they are.
