I had to, the thread was a little too serious. Don't get me wrong, it's a serious subject, but we need some laughing in here too.

Thanks for the thread, and the attempt at change, deev. It's something's that has grown to annoy me quite a bit, people immediately attacking a guy asking a simple question when it's just as easy to offer some help - whether or not the topic at hand has been covered a bajillion times. There have definitely been cases of certain members trying to come off as they're superior because they've been a member for a couple years... "OG," ya know. It actually crossed my mind to remove the stickers from my car. Petty, I know, but I see them as a way to get the word out to fellow Accord owners who would like to get a little more into their ride and enjoy it more. At times I questioned whether I really wanted to represent a place with such an attitude problem. I'm glad something is to be done about it all, so thanks for putting in the effort. This is the internet, and it needs to be taken a lot less seriously.

I have noticed since this thread was made that the Beginner's section has gotten a lot friendlier.

              This.

This was my first forum and Ive made a lot of friends from it. I remember names and faces that're no longer here and I myself am becoming one. Today's the 12th; I havent been on since the 6th.

I think it's because, while I still like OT-ing and talking to my old friends, I dont have this car anymore so I have no interest in seeing about it, hearing about it, etc. I try to help when I can and I try to share the info I do remember but sometimes it isnt enough to deem spending hours every day here.

One of the main reasons I never even posted in honda-tech even though i have an account is because this site was the exact opposite. Deeve is right, there is to much flaming , exclusivity and don't copy my style type members. The board needs to grow out the teenage attitude. We need members who are willing to think outside the box. Members who are trying something new or build upon something that was already done by someone else without having to be ridiculed on this site.

I honestly wonder if I'd still be keeping up with my CB if it wasn't for this forum. I haven't driven it in nearly 4 years, but I waste WAY too much time here (and most of it is just being one of the guys, not the owner.)
There have been MANY times that I have considered other "project" options... much more performance-oriented cars, like an old Boxster, a Lotus Elise/Exige (if I can find an affordable one), an older M3, or even a simple Miata. The CB7 really isn't the best platform for anything... but I'm attached to MY car, and I'm more than attached to this community!

We really do have more members doing truly innovative things with their cars now than ever before. We also have a lot of "my shit don't stink" people... most of which don't have much to brag about in the first place.
So yeah... in that way, we're getting far too much like Honda-Tech for my liking. I hope to change direction before we hit that iceberg dead-on!

I wont point fingers or say names but...a newer member recently came across a very clean, newer car, (let's just say it's a bright red civic) and he's being bashed by an older member for his chices in modifications, which havent even happened yet.

That older member has since moved on and rarely posts, yet he's making a mess of the newer member's thread. It's uncalled for, disgusting and downright rude. I dont give a fuck who you are, who you think you are, or whatever reason you have; saying the things he's said and having the attitude that the old member has, is just......plain ignorant.

It's reasons like THAT, I dont come here often. Forget me and my car. People can bash me all they want. I couldnt give even the tiniest fuck about what anyone here, or anywhere, has to say about my car let alone their opinions on me and my lifestyle. Someone bashes me or my car; I dont come around here for a week or so. Someone, who I thought was a stand-up guy, bashes a newer member for his choices; no thanks. I wont stand for that. And since I cant do anything about it other than inform a moderator, I'll just take my business elsewhere.

And that's what this place is; a business. Essentially, it is a business. And ignorant, rude, unruly customers scare off long-time, good-standing customers. It shouldnt be that way though. Im not saying the "bosses" arent doing their job but people should be dealt with accordingly. If you dont, or cant, play nice, GTFO.

I know it's not "welcoming to all" but sometimes, it has to be done. Being a doormat will only do just that; allow people to walk all over you. IDK about anyone else here but Im tired of being the doormat. Im tired of being the nice guy. Im tired of finishing last.

I keep checking this forum and what goes on here every once in a while. It is sad to see the activity level dropping but that is to be expected with the chassis getting older.

I've been lurking around on craigslist again.. looking for a CB coupe or a wagon.
Funny thing.. I bought my CB back in 2006 for $1,400. It has some rust and some miles on it but it was pretty solid overall. Now, nearly 6 years later, people still sell them for around 1,500!

So while normal people dream of lambos, vettes, high-end bmws, and such, I am dreaming of a CB shell to work on lol

When you see something like that, say something. Politely, and don't drag it into a lengthy discussion. Say your bit and ignore that member from that point on.

I know I've gotten out of line once or twice myself, and been snapped back to reality by another member, old or new.
Hell, I flamed someone unnecessarily in the Beginner Forums early in their existence. phatdoughnut called me out on it. I banned myself for a week. He was right. I was out of line. It took someone to put it into perspective for me to see it.

A very clean ride indeed. This member mentioned it to me as well, and I am not on here 24/7 like I used to be (due to alot of personal reasons), and he said no matter what my heart will always be with a CB.

I may have been warned once or twice in my 3 years of being around. And I try to help where I can with what very little I do know. And like many others have said I have friends here too I don't just lurk around to leech, and the is a number of you I have met in person and have on FB.And the negativity may have been the reason I haven't been posting as much as I used to. I am glad this thread was made, kind of puts things in perspective. I like it here better than any other forum that I have been on (HT, PZ, PO to name a few and yes I was a BB6 owner first) and the community is just a good place to be and policing ourselves up is what keeps this together. I say keep up the friendly part and we should be good.

For the noticeable negativity I see around here, I still think the tight knit friendly community atmosphere trumps it. Atleast in the way I see this forum, I find it filled with great members with lots of knowledge and just a general good group to BS with.

Yes, there is negativity around the site from many members, myself being guilty of that too. But this place never has been like and never ever will be like Honda Tech. I absolutely cannot stand the elitist trendy hipster attitude over there.

This place is home. 3 years I've been here, with and without CB's through that period, and I find in my 10+ years of being active on forums, this is one of the best I've been on.

I let out a little sigh and SMH when I see some threads/questions beat to death like "how do I get yellow lights?" and stuff. I might click on it to see how much of a n00b the member is and if they can coherently string together a readable post. I might help out. I might just read it. If I have nothing to say, I just click back and onto the next thread.

I'm very active on here, and the activity of this site I find is always busy. It's great to see. It's a well run site for sure. The people are what keep me coming back every day.
