I told him I have a big block 2.2L Honda motor under the hood. I also told him that I like the big block Honda motors better than any of the 1.6L or 1.8L motors in Civics and Integras. "But your motor is only a SOHC" he says, "it has to be weak sauce." I let him know it has more potential than he is giving it credit for, then explained to him I was putting an H22A4 in eventually to replace the F22A6. He asked me if it was hard to swap the F22A6 into my Accord, I told him "no, since it came like that from the factory..."

The whole time he is staring at me with a blank look on his face. He thought for a minute then asked "what's an H22A4?". I told him it's the same displacement with DOHC and VTEC and should put down respectable power without a turbo. *blank stare continues* The I said "it's the same motor as the top of the line Prelude." I saw the gears turning and his expression lit up, but all he said was "oh".

After staring at the SOHC motor for a few more seconds he said "so ... do you want to race?". I looked at him and said "I'm a grown up, but if you can afford a track pass I'll see your Integra at an autocross event." His only response was "well you're a pussy then if you don't want to race on the streets." I let him know, my life/the lives of others and insurance premiums are more important to me than his silly opinion, and he should go find some Civics to play with.

Dumb kid, Accords are for big boys...

Got any other dumb "Honda" fanboy stories? I like to hear them.

Well, it was a big block for Honda once apon a time. Now it's kinda a medium block.

But still it is known as a big block Honda motor.

It was never hondas biggest engine, they had a 2.7 v6 out at the time the f22 was introduced.

I hate when people tell me "you should swap a K in it". I've had my wife's cousin, who owns a Ford probe, tell me that and my sister in law's brother, who owns an eg hatch. I try to explain to them its not that simple in our cars. You have to make custom mounts, because I don't think they make ones for the cb chassis. I've gotten the same blank stares when I've told them a h22 will drop in.

Honestly I'll probably never swap the motor in my Honda for another one. I plan on just rebuilding the stock f22 and maybe add some power adders along the way. I'm lazy. If I want something fast, I'll get an old chevelle with a 350 in it.
We are all ricers, it just depends what flavor rice you are.

Minitrucker by heart, CB7tuner by coincidence.

Stock for stock even a z6 eg will walk a heavier f22a6 accord. Since 06 i've got plenty of stories, but i don't tend to socialise with dumb people that want to brag about fake parts, those are the type i hate the liars of modifying.

F series is great and has potential, hell put a F in a eg and they run stupid good with just bolt on's, power to weight is the game. I will continue to build my builds around the f series, though my accord is the last honda i plan to have and build.

Agreed, but power is worthless if you can't put it down. These morons had nothing done suspension wise and had cheap crap tires and are a danger when driving aggressive on city streets. So take that EG with a destroyed suspension and heavy non-performance bolt ons and it doesn't matter what power plant it has, it will still slide right off the road just the same.

Again though the thread is about morons.

I haz BFG G-FORCES 235/55's or 50's idr either or no cheapness.

I get your point on the people you speak of they're all over i'd rather deal with them than a liar. And my z6 statement was due to your 1.6 comment no big deal.

Power to weight. And the B/D transmissions are stronger units.

Yea I know that was for that post. even my f20 with a chipped ecu I/H/E and gutted car takes a sec to shake him. MAybe its just a freak b16. Ive seen a stock integra with a b16 walk a h22 accord.

It also depends on the driver. I missed a shift in my CTS-V (well, I let the skip-shift put me in 4th from 1st...) and I got walked by a minivan.

dude my car is stock only an intake exhaust p12 and se bb4 wheels (15lbs) with 50 series tires that weight 17 pounds or so. so acceleration is increased from reduced unsprung weight, smaller profile tire, simple induction (h23 manifolds not installed yet) and exhaust work ( no header or cat work done yet)

New clutch and flywheel oe replacement

My guess is 155hp flywheel. Considering my advantage of lighter wheels and lower profile tires I would shit on a stock z6 or y8 hatch.
serious TQ 3rd gear all the way to 90mph pulls reall strong. To them 15.5 is b16 territory . To me 15.5 is bolt ons. not hard for me to hit that with my setup, soon with header car and intake manifold installed. Got a f23a on deck but that is another story..

The thread isn't about who would win. I would most likely lose in a straight line street drag. On an autocross course it most likely would be a different story. My point is that these morons think I'm afraid of their cars when their own knowledge of a vehicle ends at the gas pedal.
