Yeah, the ECU is what I'm most worried about. I have a spare alternator if that's fried and can get a battery, but an ECU isn't always the easiest thing to track down. Got a new cable today, but I work at 4 or 5 in the morning and am always so burnt out when I'm off, I didn't do any repairs/tests yet. The good news is I have my new Prelude tranny, with good VSS internals, so it'll finally have full power when I do get it all sorted.

Old School, it's just one more in a string of depressing "are you freakin' kidding me?!" events with this car. But I love it too much, I could never leave it under any terms but my own... and those terms would only be to replace it with another when I'm good and ready! I cool off for a bit, distract myself with something else, then come back with a clear head.

I know, I've been wanting to do a meet again this year but was waiting until I do the shocks/springs and head out your way at least for Pikes & Evans. Time is passing way too quickly and for whatever reason things aren't getting done.

                Weak, I just bought one.

It's Lookout Mountain in Golden, up there by Buffalo Bill's grave. Short road, but fun.

Looks like my speed sensor issue is on the wiring side, not with the mechanics. The troubleshoot guide I found online was incorrect on how something worked, my tranny internals are fine, so luckily I can get my money back on the gearbox. I probably screwed up some wiring during the swap. Anyone know where to get a quality DMM for a reasonable price?

ED - it turned out to be an open ground. I finally experienced VTEC today, haha. Pretty nifty. But recently an old problem has resurfaced and the Small Light fuse keeps popping. No tails, no cluster, so basically I have a curfew once the sun goes down. Probably ordering some Koni STR.Ts and Tein S-Techs next weekend

as long as the meter will read ohms thats all you need in a DMM in my opinion.

Cy- get a multimeter like you're planning, and ohm your blinker/light switch connectors (on the actualy switch). It's somewhat common for them to short internally and keep blowing fuses. Another option, is your "dim" wire for your CD player. If it isnt capped/covered correctly it'll short to the radio chassis and keep popping the fuse. Last but not least, the actual wiring for the lights could be shorted to any metal around the connectors/wiring/etc. Thats typically not the case, but is a possibility you may want to consider after you've tried the forementioned suggestions.

                          Hope that helps!

Thanks for the tips, I'll look into it tonight. It's an intermittent short,it's been a couple months since the last occurrence so something's def wiggling around in there. I say "quality" DMM because I figured a cheapo one would be fine since I only need the basic V/O functions. Picked one up from Advance over a year ago and the dial switch went all sketchy and it kept giving me weird readings. Just got a Craftsman though and it feels solid, I like it. Warranties are always good, too.

So I was out on the main 'cruising' strip tonight - I had no intention of cruising, the fact that it was going on slipped my mind and I was just on my way home. But anyway, I was opposite the lane I needed to turn off, so once my light turned green I gunned it to make my move. Apparently the C5 Vette convertible next to me thought I was racing so he went for it as well. Obviously he won, but it wasn't nearly the embarrassment I was expecting. I do love this engine, and now I'm dying for a bit more power!!!

                              ... thought I'd share.
