BB6 Dash swap

Yes I work in a body shop. I do all the repair/metal work...basically everything except paint. Only paint work I do is stuff for myself. I have a decent size garage, it's like 26x26 or so, but most of that room is taken up with my 64 Impala SS restoration project.

I got the center tunnel from the Prelude fit up last night and started welding it it place. I have more welds to do, but it's pretty solid for now. There are two big reasons for swapping over the tunnel...First, it has the mounting holes for the BB6 center console, and more importantly, the mounts for the Ebrake assembly. This is important because you can't decently swap the console over without the ebrake. It wouldn't look right. Also, it raised my shifter a hair which is kinda nice. I only have a little more work to do on this portion, then back to finishing up the dash.

You know I thought your headlight conversion was sick, and it still is. But this right here makes your headlights look easy. I wish I had the skills and confidence to take on a job like this. Definitely going to be a one of a kind Acclude.

I got some more work done on the dashboard today before leaving work. Hopefully by friday all the smothing will be done over the sectioning joints. I'll post up some pics of everything fit together before I take it all back apart to drop off at my friend's shop for the upholstery work. More updates soon!
