Rat rods are just rice...i don't get why people can accept them and not ricers O.O. I mean look at the flames on them. Thats not even a style, it's called neglection of paint.

I think it,s a good look especially on the older vws . I like the fact that the import scene is going in different directions . I mean it's like if you do a body kit your rice which is so untrue some cars look great. The jdm look I'm getting kinda of tired of it , don;t get me wrong it looks good. But most cars are starting to look alike with the jdm look .

The import car scene I have noticed is kinda a bunch of people going with whatever style that is considered in at the time . And I;m just as guilty.
I'd like to see cars that don't have the same style as everyone else,s , but that's the problem with the import scene we are all to judgemental on how someone does there car nowdays especially if it's not jdm.

Maybe we need to open our eye's and minds to some thing different and do our cars nowdays so they don't look the same as so one else,s car.
But the jdm look will die out just like the ricer style as it was called, And then we all will do the next look that come's out and start calling jdm rice.

So what the hell maybe I will take my nice clean 91 hatch and make a rat rod out of it.

Thats SUCH a cool chop. It got picked apart on the vortex for inaccuracy, but whatever, it still looks cool as shit. Shows some mad skillz I thinks.

Bumpers removed looks awesome, but colision with ptretty much anything = total loss.

BTW, a rabbit would NEVER have rear neg camber like that (unless somone put irs in it) .... beam rear axle FTL

I went to the clinic a few days ago and saw a fifth gen accord with a "rat-rotted" hood on it.

it was an eyesoar.

It kinda looked like they took a grinder to the caked on paint and bondo and just went ballistic on it......like texas chainsaw massacre status it just looked gross.

As for the "Rat Rod"...fat whitewalls, flat black paint and a rusty hood DOES NOT make your car a Rat Rod. Like that Focus a page or 2 back. It was perfect except for the hood. A -PAINTED- hood. Its not even real rust, people are now painting their cars to look rusty....anyone else see the FAIL here?

This is not only a FAIL on their part for trying to be different by using an old idea, thats already been around once, but theyre disgracing the style and the name. Im not slamming my car, covering the INT in velvet and calling it a lowrider, am I? I could. Maybe i should. Yeah, thats the ticket, ill bring back lowriders by slamming my import and putting 12" daytons on it.




Keele, i can see this from an artform standpoint, but when I, your average Joe, thinks "Rat Rod", then comes in this thread and sees the cars posted....Im confused. I see no Rat Rods. Only retards with rust-painted hoods. The only real Rat Rods i saw were reference pics of REAL Rods from the 30s and 40s.

I swear, people are always trying to be different, but in doing so theyre creating bandwagons, and weak-minded people are joining them by the masses, also "being different", when in fact they are being the same.

This whole thing reminds me of that saying, "You laugh cuz I'm different, I laugh cuz you're all the same."
In trying to be different, we are all actually being the same. Everyone wants to be different, but they wanna be the NEW different, that a few people have started. "Surely no one will wanna copy this and be like us.."

i saw a chrysler with a rat rod hood, the pic i took on my phone didn't come out that good.
