Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

I wouldn't mind having both: a CB and an RSX. The RSX is a very respectable car in my book. I drove one with $1200 suspension setup and it was a blast. The interior/exterior styling is a bit hard to get used to though, I guess.
But then 06-07 Civic Si is ALMOST in the same price category and is a better car overall IMO.

You could definitely hack the underside of a cb, just make sure you weld some kind of supports across the shell so that it doesn't get deformed when you cut the bottom. It would be fun to do, I'd be scared to drive a car like that though because it'd be completely irreplaceable.

For the $8000+ it'll cost to do the swap, why not sell the CB and just buy an RSX or something newer??

I know you love the CB but if it hasnt already, itll run into problems. Window regulators, rust, main relays, etc. Plus, if/when you go to sell it, you probably wont get more than a few grand for it.

Just makes sense, to me, from a long-term standpoint, to buy something newer.

And again someone worried about money......if ur that scared to invest alot of money into something u love maybe u shouldn't be doing this.... im not worried about the cash or resale value, im worried about it being my project and coming together the way I want no matter the cost....im real tuner so price doesn't matter when it comes to shopping. Now if I was my girlfriend or some ppl I know on here that only like cheap or what u can get with the money then I would go the other route. Some ppl will never understand

After reading this thread, it sounds like you've made up your mind several days ago or perhaps before this thread even started. So why don't you just do it? Start gathering parts. Start a build thread or throw it in your existing MR. Hater's will continue to hate that's a fact. And for those who support you, they'll flood your inbox. I'm neither here nor there as points have been made on both sides of the argument. But I will say actions speak louder than words.

haha thats true, but i mean won't the axles stick out? i did the measurements for the VG on a CB and the engine will push back the firewall, only way i can see it working would be to weld in the front end of an S13 or a Z31/32 which pretty much becomes useless to have a RWD VG powered CB7

Buying a home is expensive. Plus it's good to wait at least 3-6 months to make sure everything works/hold together. I'll probably have a block before you do. But keep us posted.

You shouldn't need a loan to buy a 6-7K RSX-S. Esp if u have the cash to do a K swap into a CB

No matter how u put it, K-swapping a CB makes no financial sense over buying an RSX-S. U can get an 02-03 for like $7K. A K20A2 + trans + ECU is at least 3K unless you get a deal. K20R is obv more, and then u have to get together all the parts to swap it in. Then there's the value of ur time. If u want it, go for it. But there's no rationalizing it beyond that.

Not to mention, the RSX is safer, lighter, etc. I don't like it's looks either, and it's not as roomy plus it has a shit rear suspension. But objectively it's a much better car.

I'm pretty sure he wants to put the k24 in the cb7.

I'm pretty sure he doesn't care about cost effectiveness.

Why are there still conversations about some other option being better?

I want to put the j35 awd into the cb7 all wheel steering chassis with a crv rear diff making it awd. I could go buy a Acura TL, but then it wouldn't be a cb7 with a v6 and awd would it? Give the guy advice on swapping in the k24 and drop everything else.

OP: search for 2point6 build threads. He's got a nice k24 setup!

If u wanna do it, do it, but it can't be rationalized objectively

Most mods people do on this forum can't be rationalized objectively. A life of nothing but rationalization is one I don't care to live, man that'd be boring!
