Please DO NOT Post In The General Section

From this point on until otherwise briefed, posting in the general section of Performance Tech is prohibited. The only thing to remain here will be the stickies. We would just delete this section, but that would cause unintended results.

The majority of the threads created can appropriately be placed in one of the Performance Tech sub-forums or Technical; and the posting of them here is detrimental to the activity of said forums. If you have any questions about where you need to place your thread PM me or one of the other mods.

For the most part you all have caught on without this post, but there have been a few habitual offenders that forced me to say this.

Everyone will get a couple of warnings from here on out, after that I just start deleting threads.

Again if you have any questions, PM me or one of the other mods.

Good machine shops are usually always busy, the one that fits you in right away I would be concerned about.

There's also a saying "Good, Fast, Cheap, pick any two".

If its of good quality and you get it fast its not going to be cheap.

If its cheap and you get it fast its probably not good quality.

If its good and cheap, you not going to get it fast.

shoulda brought it to me man, i wouldve had that shit turned around in a week

oh and by the way, never tell a machine shop to take thier time. make some bullshit excuse how your landlord is going to kick you out and you need to have it running by next week. also, cash is king.

First time seeing the thread, weirdly enough, and I love the idea of keeping it legal but still making it fun. But will a lvl 2/3 cam really keep you within smog limits? I've been looking at Bisi cams for my own and only the L1 is noted to be emissions friendly. Just curious if the engine can be tuned both for the larger cams and the emissions.

*ED - nvm, read page 6, lol. Keep it up though, interesting build!

nice build, i have a similar build on the go but for a turbo application. only thing that comes to mind is a greddy timing belt and new oil pump.

ECU I'm still waiting to get.

Yeah I would love to boost my CB but Cali smog blows lol and I don't want to have to keep swapping motors every 2 years haha. And as for greddy timing belt I already plan on it.

yea but turbo setup is just a matter of swapping exhaust manifolds and a cam and a tune.

neh. prob would want to sleeve the block and lower compression and other little things (oil lines, fittings, etc).

you can run forced induction with 10:1 but you need to tune it well. sleeves aint necessary unless you are looking to push big numbers.

i run my vw with 9:1 and 14 psi.

yeah but 11.5:1 or 12:1 is a little to much for boost lol which is what my H has

you'll still have a really nice reliable block with some sweet components.
                              you'll need some good mounts

yep which is what I'm shoot in for! And I do plan on getting some ESP mounts and maybe their traction bar set up.
