    Well I just bought a jack. $30 from Oreiliy's.
    http://www.oreillyauto.com/site/c/de...0986&ppt=C0373
I tested it to see if it rises enough to place jack stands and it does. I also found this "mystery leak" I have had for 2 months now. It was the oil drain plug washer.
The jack could use ratchets to lift too. I am happy.

It might work on my new drop... Neuspeed Sport. Probably not with my old H&R Race though.

I feel like that would rip up the body. Will it even reach jack point?

it always takes me 10 - 15 minutes to put my ride on jack stands ... 10 minutes of fear and continuous checking as I raise the car, because the parking in my house is 5 degrees angle and not a flat surface also the floor is cement not asphalt and it has many cracks ... I am thinking to paint the safe area so I know where to park the car for lifting.

also my hydraulic is one year old and it isn't jacking like I first bought it ,, maybe it needs oil ... is mineral oil, the olive oil we have on the table or the oil we cook with ?! just in case I don't find air tool oil

also since there's that 5 deg. angle .. I gave up on my center beam ... the hydraulic jack palm always slips ... it wasn't like that before the engine replacement but now I don't trust it anymore ... I am raising the car using the towing hooks

I have had good luck with harbor freight cheepy jacks. Not the fancy gimmicky ones they have the Orange central pnuematic 3 ton with no frills. Well over a decade on the current one.
If you resort to scissor jacking you could retrofit to hook up a drill, or at least a ratchet.

So I bought the scissor jack from Oreily's and it does not raise the car high enough when I jack it from the front center tow hook to place jack stands under the side points high enough to keep tires off the ground. Would jacking the car from one side like the rear side point to place stand on front and then do the same to the other side be OK to do?
Diagram below, red are all the jack points I know of on car.

Just a quick suggestion for those that can't get their ride high enough to get on axle stands or whatever with whatever jack they're using: I had the same issue and I just made a platform to slide under the jack to give it a bit of extra height. It's amazing how much a few extra inches improves workability!

I've made ones out of stacked ply, as well as laminated 1x3. I make them long and wide enough to accommodate jack wandering for hydraulic ones on wheels. Obviously might not help much if you're really slammed, but sometimes it's just an extra bit till you're safely perched on the stands.

I don't think there would be a difference in the olive oil you put in a pan to cook with and the olive oil that is on your table (like for dipping bread?) olive oil is olive oil... olives are not a mineral.... idk if it would work the same. just from knowing the consistency of hydraulic oil I know its more viscous than olive oil I wouldn't do it.

I have a 2" drop. To raise my car I drive up on two peices of wood so my jack can get under my frame, then I jack it up and put it on jack stands. To get more height, I lower the jack and add wood on top and lift again then adjust my stands. To lower the car I place the wood back under my tires and lower the car on to them.

I want to make an adapter that will allow me to use a ratchet with a scissor jack. Should be easy enough to do (I've just been too lazy to do it!) It would make the operation of the jack much easier.
I have a scissor jack with a 19mm nut on the end of it. I forgot what kind of car its from but it is a factory jack. I love it, it is alot easier to use than the cb scissor jacks

huh? You dont use food oils in industrial situations

                              Olives are organic (life form)

Mineral oil is petroleum (oil based )

                              lol
